I was told to expect Tamora’s to use oil, up to 1l per 1k miles. I check the dipstick every time I use the car and its always got loads (I do check it properly, when the car is warm) I have never had to put a drop in. Is this normal?

I currently use Mobil 1 0W40 and have done 10K miles so far.

I don't think they use a lot of oil - mine seems to use very little as well...

I have had mine for over 1 year and never had to top up the oil, done over 3000 miles.

Mine has just had the oil replaced at its 6k service but like you dipped the oil regularly and not a drop used prior to this. I did follow a fairly rigorous running in regime and never "use it" until oil temperature has reached 30 degrees - maybe that has helped?

I am alway carful to warm through too. One thing I have noticed is that the oil gets hotter now, it never used to go over 60 but now its been creaping upto 80. I dont think its a problem as water stays below 100 and oil pressure is fine at about 45psi @ 4000 rpm.

I have now done 10K and really getting used to the car. Did a couple of hundred miles in convoy with a mate in his V6 TT and you can guess the result, a spanking for Audi.

I know its been said before but these things just get better and better. Pre and post 1k service was a transformation and similarly with the 6k there's a big leap in performance and the feeling of solidity. I love it!

Mine uses it like its going out of fashion - about 1l per 500 to 1000 miles, depending on how hard its thrashed.
