Changing the Tamora and been fferred pants part ex
Discussion
I would say that if you advertised it on here for the same price that you would get for trade in at a dealers, it would probably sell very quickly indeed.
There was a T350c for sale on here last week at trade price. Same scenario, the guy was selling and had been offered the usual trade in from his dealer but thought that he would sell it on here for the same price. Thus letting an enthusiast benefit from the price rather than the dealer.
Sold in about 24hrs with loads if interest, I was second in line but unfortunately the first to see it snapped it up.
I'd say go for it and advertise it on here, after all if you don't get a taker you can still take it to the dealer.

Am 90% convinced am changing for a new Porsche Cayanne S.
Tamora is just not practical for me as an only car, I had bought it when I was with my x and could use her car for work and lugging things around.
Makes me a bit sick though, Tamora is lovely and is just back from the factory having been fully sorted including a retrim and respray - piccies at

Its about £43k with the options, Pearlescent paint, aircon, 18 inch wheels, upgraded stereo and speakers full leather etc and I get offered a whopping £28k and its a 2003 which is just coming upto a year old - hows that for depreciation! So I told the dealer to go forth unless he came up with a better price but if I do get stiffed on depreciation I would prefer an enthusiast to have the benefit.

In defence of the dealers, with new TVR's only taking a few weeks to build to order, there needs to be a fair price incentive to buy a used one.
So a nearly new Tamora with a sticker price of say, £32k, would compete with a new one at £39k. To make some money on the £32k car the dealer can't pay more than £28k, after servicing it and providing a warranty he might make 2 or 3K profit...
Sadly, TVR's just are'nt flying out of the showrooms like they were, these days..

WTF? he's knocked a grand off his original offer?
i hope he had a beter reason than 'well, that was then, this is now'?
put it up for private sale IMO. surely you could wait a couple of weeks to regain a grand?
i don't know why these haven't sold new. sp6 issues seem to have been resolved in the tam/t350 generation, i'd thought, so i would imagine that values will firm up a bit for your convertible in a month or two.
i think they look lovely as well, and though i'd love a 350, i'd have to stick with a convertible. wonder if tvr would put a 350 cage in one?....
good luck, whatever you decide.
