Has anyone traded in a tamora yet?
If they have can I ask what sort of depreciation they suffered?
As some of you know we are considering buying a tamora - that was until I looked at some leasing rates from Lex. They are suggesting that after 3 yrs/36,000 miles the car will be worth £10,500. I have to say that although I wasn't expecting the Tamora to deprciate as well as a Boxster (sorry for mentioning that name) - I wasn't expecting it to be quite that bad.

on the basis that early Chimaeras are only just hitting the 10.5 k mark after ten years plus i doubt that very much....

I have just traded in my December 2001 Tamora with 16k miles for £22,500 as part of a deal to buy a BMW through a main dealer. I was not happy with the depreciation but i guess the fact that the T350C & T followed quickly after the Tamora does not help
I believe Frosties went for 24k to a dealer too (2002). We need a forum for part-ex cars (for people who won't haggle and will turn up with a bankers draft for say 500 quid over the price offered in exchange) to benefit the PH community! I'd have bought your Tamora and/or Frosties for a small mark up on the dealer trade-in price.
And now it looks like T350 values have begun to collapse too.

That does not bode well for when we trade ours in for a 440...

Worth GBP 10,000 less than a 40,000 mile 3 year old 996.
What IS the matter with people????
Expect to lose 10K in the first year, more if you dont trade....
TVR's are a shit trade in car at anything other than a TVR dealer, and even TVR dealers dont want them.
Mrs Fish, you'll be lucky to get 27K by the time you come to get the T440. And the T440 will depreciate quicker than the starship enterprise. Best buy is a Griffith in the current market. Wish I had bought a limited edition one.

Unless of course TVR find a way of building more than one customer car every three months.
TVR Finance quote £14250 residual on a three year/30000 mile PCP deal for a new Tamora. Bear in mind that they set it low, to cover their risk of selling the car at the end of the term. So on the deal you quote, your finance/leasing company is obviously being very cautious.
On a HP scheme, you can have a 50% balloon for the same age/mileage car. Obviously the onus is on you to settle the 50% balloon in this case, but shows that they are more optimistic about the car's future value. (TVR Finance still have the risk of you defaulting and just handing the car back at the end, which means they'd have to sell it.)
I am too stupid to really understand finance, but if you want to email me, I'll give you the number for Richard the head at TVR Finance.

Hi Flasher - my opinions are expressed based purely on my vast knowledge of course. Looks like I'm about right on this one, maybe a tad generous - tell us what sort of trade-in did you get on your T350C against your Sophia Loren - i.e. the Old Man's Italian beauty.
PS A good time to buy a LE Griffith will be winter 2005/2006 - you'll get one for around £18K IMO.

Jigs
against the Maserati I got precisely "£ none of your business"......
However I will let you know that I got £30K against the Tamora when I ordered the T350. I was lucky it wasn't too bad because I bought the demo and saved £5k on list.
This time the hit was slightly more.
As for the T440/Typhon thingy Jeremy I'll have a nice little bet they will be £50K within 12 months of release. Thats if they build any now they are all on strike!!

I think its a good way to get rid of at least £40k over a 3 year period but I might be wrong, if it turns out to be as well built, fault free and useable as a 911.
