I have just done the deed, and ordered Anthracite 18 " wheels on my forthcomming Tamora which will be in Wildfire Red Pearl. Have just driven Castle TVRs Demo which had them fitted late yesterday. Its looks fantastic! ride and handling also superb, Carn't stop grinning! Flasher, did you go for silver or the Anthracite ones?

Nigel

I went for silver as the anthracite wouldn't go that well with my colour. Had them fitted this morning and they look awesome!!!

Roof off for the PH meeting tomorrow

Since you're uniquely placed to do a comparison, how does the change effect the ride / handling?

Folks anlways say the Tuscans are much better on 16" wheels, what's your expierence?

Flasher,

The car looked great in the flesh, now I see why you wanted that colour.

Sorry I didn't get to say hello but you and bennno had left by the time I got back from lunch.

Nice wheels!

Well, firstly they all look better on the 18" wheels. I think we are all agreed on that. Handling wise mine certainly feels like you couldn't lose it on the 16" wheels. The 18" wheels are a bit more skittish but in the dry offer a bit more grip although they do tramline a bit.Have't driven in the wet on the 18" wheels and for me that will be the real test, because the 16" were excellent in the wet. I also think the steering has got something to do with the Tuscan handling and maybe the 18" effect the steering more on the Tuscan than they do on the Tamora? But hey, I'm no expert it's just an opinion. I am lucky enough to have both sets now and will use the 16" ones for track days etc.

By best efforts i think flasher means i was only using 60% of full throttle in 3rd/4th/5th&6th gears - whilst he had his foot down and was using all gears!!!

Must admit that i was pressing on and Flash was keeping up well through the twisties. dont think he would have been able to get past, but he did admit he did not feel he could have kept up in either of his earlier TVR's.....

Had no trouble keeping up and wasn't full throttle either, just kept a bit back in case the rest of your gearbox fell off as we were going along

Definitley couldn't have done those bends at speed in the Griff or Cerb

flash, don't forget your new tyres wont have bedded in yet, so your grip will probably improve (should take a couple of 100 miles)
