Anyone on here used their tamora on a track day ?

If so I have lots of questions !
How did you rate it ?
What was the level of grip like and the 'fun factor' ? (I am used to the elise/ vx on track.)

Apart from the t350 which is over my 30k budget would you say it's the best TVR for the track?

Do you think mechanically the tamora would cope with 4 or 5 hard driven track days per year ?

Cheers.

Yes, just once at the Bedford Autodrome.
The Tamora was superb and handled much better than the Tuscan S that I also drove that day.
This was 20 months ago so it was the first time that the instructors had seen a Tamora. At the end of the day they were so impressed that they rated the Tamora as the best handling TVR!
Cheers..... Andrew

It will handle slightly different from a Lotus/Vx, but you will have alot of fun. More power on the straights and out of the bends, but through the corners you will be slightly slower. All in all, far better than what you have been used to.

Andy,

I can't see a problem with 4 or 5 track days a year.
I went to Castle Coombe last year, got 8 MPG but everything was running fine (temp, oil pressure, brakes) even the tyres were fine.

The car handles like a dream...apart from on one lap where it decided it wanted to go down the start finish straight sideways....but that was fun too.
You can really stand on the brakes into the corners and it just takes it all, then catapults you out sideways...if you want.

I'm definitely doing more trackdays this year!!

Have you looked at the video of the Tamora v Tuscan v Cerbera v NSX typeR that someone put the link to on general TVR forum a couple of weeks ago.
A bit of a dodgy outcome in the end i reckon(japanese propaganda) but you get to see them on track. The Tamora was doing the best out of the TVR's.
Definately worth a watch.I would do one of them helpfull blue links, but i haven't got the foggiest.

Used the Tamora at Donnington after previously running an M3 round there. TVR was faster but M3 more fun going sidewards.
let you know how the Sagaris goes in May hopefully

Used mine several times on trackdays and it was superb. Once I got the hang of it (after a hue moment at McLeans at Donnington!!) I thought it was amazing and only stuff like Carrera RS Porkers and GT3's were getting past.

I have never understood why people think trackdays damage cars. If you drive sensibly and get the car regularly serviced it should make no difference whatsoever.

As for the T350 on track I still dont feel as sure of it as I did the Tamora mainly because the grip levels in corners are even better and this seems to make the limit you get to before the rear comes out a much smaller envelope.

At Bedford full circuit a couple of years ago Neill Anderson was running-in (his words) a Tamora and it was the fastest car on the track. This was pre-T350c days and Neill obviously knows what he's doing but all the same it was bloody impressive to watch and follow! Rich...

Ultimately not as balanced as the mid-engined car but unless you go crazy the back should give warning before getting too unpleasant. Any road car on a track will give its brakes and tyres a good deal of stick and this is more of a problem with heavier cars.
