Met up with the other Tamora freaks on Saturday and after a trip to Colin Blower Motorsport we headed down to TMS to try their Tamora demo with 18" rims. Pictures are on the TMS website www.tvrgear.com/ under the "latest news" section.
We all thought the 18" wheels looked superb and after driving the demo we all decided to go for 18" wheels!!

Had a fabulous thrash across the Leicestershire countryside and found a disused airfield for pictures and donuts!! What a weekend....

Yeah, flash, a cracking day out was had by all! I really enjoyed the day, and it was great to see you all again. We must do it again, along with Nick, and anyone else who cares to join in, when Andy (gb) gets back from Oz. The thrash across country was exhilarating, and exactly what our Tamoras seem to be designed for. I can't wait to get the 18" wheels. Absolutely wicked!

I've stuck a few photos on here -

How on earth do you 'find' a disused airfield?

There's plenty of them around! Most are old WW2 bases used by the RAF that have since been Decommissioned! A few that were put into a State of Advanced Care and Maintenance are now being re-opened, but the disused ones, ones were the hangers, ATC tower etc have been removed and the only things left are the runways and peri-tracks!!! Most are not marked on maps! I don't think the MOD let O/S put ex RAF bases on the maps!! Can't be sure though! There are a heck of alot around the Cambs/Beds/Bucks/Northants/Liecestershire area!! I wouldn't take a Tiv on one though!!!

Flasher/Nubbin - it was an excellent day. Makes owning the car even more worthwhile when you get to drive it like that.
Shame no-one from Pistonheads saw us cover the distance in minimal time!
See you when I get back in a couple of weeks.
Cheers....... Andrew

you bastards,

not only do you have new cars, but you have a private airfield to thrash them on!

I think you should feel honour bound to either let us all know where the airfield is or let us have a go in the cars

I was only trying to keep up with you, flasher!! The pace you were setting made me honour bound to keep up! I've never tried donuts before, and with some new tyres on the way, seemed a shame not to give it large - shame about the slightly bumpy concrete. Anyway, it's a rock solid car, and I want to use it how it should be used!! Looking forward to a few more get-togethers, and perhaps a few track days?

Have been to the TMS site and seen the pics of you lot – excellent stuff.

Looks like you had the weather too – good job you didn't go Sunday.
