Well, all I can say is that it's perfect with 16" wheels. I'm going to have a drive TMS 18" one as soon as possible and I will give you an answer then. All I can say for now is that it shagged the handling up on the Tuscan, and it's taken until now to sort it. I do think they look a bit too big for the car as it#s very small

personally i think the tuscan and Cerb need 18" wheels, whilst the Tamora looks very good on the 'free' 16" spider wheels. cetainly having a had a decent drive in flashers it does grip, steer and ride very well.

I need to see it in the flesh but some of the photos make it look a bit like a rollerskate with the bigger wheels, for once i think perhaps the wheels make it a bit OTT ????

Buy 'em! Flasher, GB13690, and me, drove TMS' demo car, with the 18" wheels, yesterday. We all felt the handling is BETTER than the 16", with a more secure feel, less flex in corners, and even better grip. Suffice to say, flasher and me have bought them, and GB is having some when he gets back from holiday. It looks abnsolutely the dogs gonads on the move, as well. Go for it, you won't regret it in the least.

PS anyone want some 16" spider wheels, suitable for Cerbie, going cheap(ish)?!

For god sake flasher why would you buy a new car without checking all the available extra's...

Just last week someone cut 2 inchs off my broom handle and it affected it's performance, is this the same sort of thing...

Now get ready for the fireworks

.........because they weren't an Option when we bought our Tamoras! The 18" wheels have only just been added to the Options list.
Having seen and driven the TMS Demo car with 18" wheels I am going to get them. I think they look better I couldn't notice any difference in the ride during the test drive.
Cheers..... Andrew

Very funny Rob........

Like I said back at the start of all this, I wanted to see and drive the car first before passing opinion. Well, it does look the bollox and it does drive even better than before. I just couldn't resist it so the old credit card got hammered!!!

I think TVR have been their usual selves on this issue. Thing is if 18" wheels WERE available when I ordered mine I would have had them, I did ask and was told "we will never fit 18" wheels on the Tamora"
- lying tossers

Anyway I am getting them so that's it. I will be at the Pistonheads meeting next Sunday with them on so you judge for yourselves then. It's either or .......

Flasher, my previous comments were not entirely my doing, you know what these Passat drivers are like! Anyway I am sure you are the envy of many with your new toy and my wife says it makes no difference how many inches you've got!
Just to let you know that the Tasmin is still going strong and has just got another year's ticket.
Hear from you soon.

Flasher, Nubbin, How much did you have to pay for the 18" wheels and tyres? Did you have to 'return' the 16" original fit items.

Don't reply if you don't want to, I'm just being nosy!

Slightly more than factory fit option! Worth it though, and we still get to keep the 16" tyres for track days, winter pootling etc. At least I won't need to buy tyres for a while!!

Congratulations! Enjoy your Tamora, I wish i could have one! Still, you know what they say about house prices - Location, location, location. Same applies to new TVR ownership!

Last weekend I was lucky enough to have test driven the TMS silver (Grigio Titanio) Tamora with 18 inch wheels, the latest one covered by PistonHeads. I haven't driven a Tamora before, so I really can't compare it against a Tamora with smaller 16 inch wheels, however, I was really impressed by the way it enhanced the stance and appearance of the Tamora and more importantly the way it handled. I can only compare it to previous cars I've owned (Lotus GT3 and Porche 944 Turbo) both renown for their handling and it compared admirably. I drove it Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, and it handled the wet roads without any problems with excellent steering feedback.
If I were to buy a Tamora I'd difinitely have 18 inch wheels without any hesitation.

The best thing to do is to go to your nearest dealer and try it out for yourself.

Thanks James of TMS for lending me the Car.
