Noticed a knocking noise at low speeds, the frequency in sync with the rolling speed of the car (easiest to hear it by dipping the clutch and rolling). Seems to be coming from one of the back wheels. Wierd thing is, if I apply the brake (even a tiny bit of pressure), it disappears.

Anyone?

Something like a twig caught in the braking system (next to the disc?)

I reckon its your rear brake pads tapping against the disc/ caliper. There can be a bit of play allowing the pad to move around in the caliper. As soon as you touch the brakes the play will be taken up hence the noise disappearing.

Quite common on Cerbs. Not sure about others

Cheers Matt. Is it a common characteristic or common problem? i.e. should i go and get it checked out?

Ours did it. It's the brake caliper working loose (IIRC). You should take it back to the dealer to get fixed. I wouldn't drive to either.

may be the caliper but much more likely to simply be the pads IMHO
