doors filling with water - tamora
Discussion
Having problems with my electric windows so removed the door cards this week (2002 Tamora). Amazed to see that there are no low drain holes for the doors and the door had about 2 inches of water in!
I've read the threads on the plastic plugs, and also a reply which suggetsed that they DO have drain holes - maybe this is something added later.
I have now drilled 2 holes towards the front of the doors, underneath, which drain the doors well and would suggest that people check for drain holes. The 3 holes allowing access to the door card screws are way too hig to allow drainage of water until it reaches about 3 inches!
So - do newer cars have drain holes? and has anyone else gone this route - if not I'd suggest you think about it.
cheers

You shouldn't have drilled holes - all you had to do was Nubbin it every so often!
Me to eh?? explain yourself jig's please. I had drain holes with plastic bungs in the T350c, but they rubbed on the cill when i put the kick plates on, so i took them out. You can buy the bungs from any kitchen shop.

Hey Nubbin, First i have heard of the smash! When was it? and i hope you you were ok!!!
Were you able to get it repaired? Nice to see that the roll over bar did the job.
looks to me as if the car has had a smash before, going by the nice neat line of the break on the wing.
As a fibreglasser myself, it looks like where the new body panels were joined together?

I owned the car from new, and it had never been crashed before. The force of the crash must have cracked the wing. Every single panel showed signs of "burst injury", the chassis was bent at the back, and there was, err, considerable cosmetic damage.
It was written off as uneconomical to repair - TVR estimated £21,000 for parts alone!!
I literally didn't have a scratch on me - and there was no whiplash or other problems. Lucky? Me?

You can just see lines under the paint in the same place on each wing of my T350C. They must be made in two parts.
Snakes
I owned the car from new,
Since reading this i have found a picture of a T350c under construction at the factory.
It does appear to have a joint in the wing at that point,(bit daft if there is though!!!!) so i would imagine that the Tamora would be the same! at present i don't know how to put pic's on here,
but i could mail it to you if you are interested. mail me via my profile, and i will send it to you.
