Discussion
Since having experienced a fairly bad water leak (drivers side footwell) a couple of things have developed;
1. Aircon stops and starts (and I've just left it not working at all now). It was behaving very strangely prior to seemingly now being dead - when I changed the temperature control the fan speed leds would go down to 1 and then after a second or two they would go back to what they were set at.
2. When starting the car, the petrol pump starts and then splutters and stops (this is what I'm hearing anyway). The car still starts though so I guess it must be working. I just can't hear it anymore just before firing up.
I'm beggining to think the carpets are not the only thing that got wet in that downpour. My best guess (bear with me) is either water on the electrics under the bonnet (not sure how that could happen though?) or water/damp on the fuses?
Anyone any ideas? I'm supposed to do a 100 mile trip to my brothers tomorrow and I'm starting to think about taking a different car?

Yes it is Tony, thanks. Rang a couple of people and they offered similar advice.
What about putting a hair dryer or electric fan heater on it?
Also re. the fuel pump, it's been suggested to me that it might just be that the pump is bedding in and you're not actually supposed to hear it so loud (as has been since new). Sound right?

Hi there
With respect to the temp control, that's normal - when u change the temperature the fan stops while the flap moves to the right place and then starts again.
My aircom worked sporadically for a time - turned out to be a loose connection on the control box which is in a compartment under the glove box - guess yours must be damp though!
