How loud is a JP Exhaust on an otherwise standard setup

I have a JP box on my T350 with all the rest being standard, has anyone here had this setup measured on a DB meter? I'm assuming that for track use it's going to fall foul of a 105db limit for tracks such as Brands?

When I had a JP on mine at 10k miles it tested several times at 102 to 103db before decatting... so may be ok but gas flow and sound through cats and backbox tends to increase as it ages.

Jeez, if its 102db at 10000 miles you won't get on any track

My Tamora is the same setup at @ Oulton was 108db

I have a JP on the Tamora but depending on which track its been tested I have anything from 95 to 105 db!!

Tony, if you can make the Essex meet on Sunday Ray will have his db meter with him and will give you an idea of the outpu!

What jp system have you got the one box section or seperate?

Rather than start a whole new thread, could the gurus tell me how loud a standard (factory fitted) exhaust would be on a T350?

Considering my first track day and want to know whether I will have any problems at any UK tracks with a standard set up?

I swapped my JP back to the standard back box for a trackday at Cadwell, and IIRC it tested at 93db, so should be fine for any track I would think.

Depends how they test it (direction, revs etc.), but my T350 comes in at exactly the same dB as my Chimaera was - 98db at Cadwell. They don't tell you at Outlon, just passed/failed.

I believe it is. I'm not interested in the airfield type circuits though so don't go to them much.

I had a slow puncture repaired at Kwik Fit on Saturday. Starting the engine up in one of their bays was great fun. I must apologise to the other customer who almost jumped out of his skin!, he should have remained in the office and not bothered the fitter who was changing his exhaust

Hi Zippee any access to an Iphone? get the decibel app downloaded we tested it against a pro meter and it was spot on mate cant remember how much it was maybe even free app. I want a sports exhaust for my Tam if anyone has one spare .

As mentioned on another thread I have recently had JP Exhausts fit on my T350C a new development sports exhaust and centre pipes that they developed on mine to be track day compliant but which still sounds much much better than standard, with plenty of pops and bangs, and sounds awesome above 3-4k rpm.

It's much easier to live with day to day than the standard JP I used to have on (measured at 106db) but still let's all know your in a TVR. The pipes are replaced from cats back and their new backbox is fitted. The tailpipes look much better than standard also.

I beleive Tim at ACT Products will be selling the new JP exhaust sometime this year... and I can highly reccomend it if you truly do want the best of both worlds.

106db have`nt fitted your old exhaust yet but for 106db i might have to get it fitted soon

106db have`nt fitted your old exhaust yet but for 106db i might have to get it fitted soon

I would definitely get it on asap... I loved the sound of it and do miss some of the out and out noise but am wanting to do a few track days this year now that I am able to.

Let me know what you think when you get it on.
