Can you believe it!? I've done 800 miles in my Tamora, and I've picked up a nail in trhe rear tyre - right near the shoulder, so not repairable. The Avon ZZ3 is a new tyre, so no-one's got them in, special order only, etc. etc. I've had to arrange to get one through the facotry - £160 or so. Macca, where are you when I need you?!!!

It deflated then did it? Or did you notice it when you were cleaning the tread with a toothbrush (or is it only me that does that )

£160 smackers – jesus!

What spare comes with the tamora or is it tyre weld as the Cerb?

I've now spoken to the wonderful guys at Micheldever tyres - £103.24 inc. valve and balance! Unfortunately, the tyres aren't released until Mid-March. TVR must have an advance order. I'm currently waiting for Micheldever to get back to me, but I thoroughly recommend them for service!!

I noticed it was flat when the back end started feeling a bit "floaty", not a feeling I'm used to with this car. the tyre pressure was 11psi, but it was still pretty stable. Maybe I could use the foam, and stay within sensible running-in speeds until the tyres are on sale. £40 bloody delivery as well from TVR!!!

If it's not fully deflated then the tyre weld should do the trick, I drove around for a few months on a tyre fixed this way, but that was on a Chevette and 20 years ago! I'm not sure I'd want to risk it at TVR speeds! rich...

Are you refering to the guy who promised me freebie tyres when I bought the car off him, which just happen to be Avons? I emailed him but not had a response yet, otherwise I could have had a spare knocking about for you.

Hi, Steve! Yeah, sorry the face was directed at my puncture, not you!!

I think I'll go and get a ZZ1 or something to tide me over until I can get a new ZZ3 in March. Then maybe see if i can get a repair done properly.

Some companies can do whats called a welded repair to the shoulder area of the tyres, I think National commercial or ATS may be able to do it, it may be worth a quick call. Should cost around £20.
