During the summer i was quite happy bimbling along in my TT when.....Vrooooommm...TVR...what the feck!!!..The following day i got me a test drive and ever since then i have fought with the devil sitting on my shoulder.Im sure that a lot of you went through the same!!My mind is made up and need a T350. I have done some homework and now have to decide whether to buy a new one, do the factory thing etc or,but pre owned.I realise that depreciation is on the step side but just how much can i expect to lose in a year.
Im sorry if this request offends some of you but im still trying to do the maths.
Thanks all for making the last couple of months entertaining on this forum...Much more informative than other forums!! i guess whatever you say im still gonna do it cos you know it makes sense!

Hi there, welcome to PH.

The average depreciation on the T350c seems to be about 7k and thats not even a year since we had ours. I reckon you would be better buying second hand as all the niggles will have been ironed out and the car will already be run in for you. Check out the PH classifieds there are a few for sale on there to give you an idea on prices.

Thankyou Mrs Fish..I have been looking in the ads and they all seem tempting.There does however seem to be a larger than average difference between the dealer and the private price.Even the private sales seem difficult to achieve.I saw snazzo's in the adds and if i wanted a blue car i would snap it up as it seems a good price.4-5K less than franchised dealers. I guess the people who take the biggist hit are those who buy new and then leave the fold to another marque.Still its gonna be a lot of fun finding the right car!

Whatever you do you won't regret it. I've been totally ruined by mt T350 - driving "normal" cars now seems incredibly dull by comparisson.

I know it sounds totally stupid but its gotten so bad that I now put the car in the garage as soon as I get home - otherwise I'm too tempted to just go for a quick spin around town.

yep! I can understand that.all my work mates are fed up with me banging on about TVR's.Even my neighbour who has a chim reckons im all mouth! The mrs has even sort of come around to my way of thinking!

I totally agree.

Absolutely LOVE my new Tamora...but check out the thread about not being able to sell the 350..gives you an idea about depreciation..

After manmy years of driving Lotus Elises I totally subscribe to the "let the fist owner sort the niggles" mentality.

My Tamora is fully sored (I think) after resprays, door adjusts, new interiors etc. etc...but I've had to do nothing..except drive!

So basically the first owner (bless him coz he's a great guy) lost 8k, ran it in, paid for the first two services (6k miles) and sorted all the niggles!

.... I had my car up for sale on the classifieds (the green one) and did have some interest. In the period I was pondering letting it go I had it serviced.

Along with the service a few niggles were sorted (rear splitter, side window, door release, oil pressure sensor etc) and with these fixed, the weather in fine form the car just grew and grew on me. Don't get me wrong I loved in from new but its not until its carefully run in, the early niggles are sorted and you're satisfied that you've had a good un that you can really relax and enjoy it.

.. and thats why I'll be keeping mine
