Mudfish – and why would you “love” to see that? Surely you aren’t one of those sad people who delight in knocking their own countries products?
Perhaps you would be surprised to know that another magazine had a Cerbera on long term test a few years ago and it performed faultlessly throughout the test. Like you I expect they were hoping to knock it but they were suitably impressed in the end.

When TVR is ready to sell in the USA, there will be plenty of buyers. I have to think getting the Tuscan USA compliant would be fairly easy. Look at the Elise--nothing has changed other than an airbag (they were given a bumper exemption and a Toyota engine). If the engine is clean, it should have no problems passing EPA regs in the USA.

The reason I say "would love" is this. The magazine is (as I am) a backer of UK sportscar manufacturers. TVR needs more media exposure to create interest in the brand, especially so, for the US!
TVR's are undoubtedly "most bang for your bucks", the US market is ideal. Evo magazine do back TVR frequently, this is more often than not followed, in the same paragraph by "reliability concerns". The US market needs to see that this is a minor problem of ownership. Tried and tested & documented ownership trials would go a long way.
In fact the journo's at EVO have emailed me and agree, they are apparently pursueing this as an option.
Thankyou and goodnight.
Just found this on the US TVR's section from 'Fizz', demonstrating what TVR will come up against:
Tuesday 16th September
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I desperately want a TVR. But TVR better want to sell it to me and support it with a strong 3 year bumper to bumper service agreement (build it into the price!) that covers everything but tires and gives me a loaner when the car is being serviced.
It all comes down to servicing/reliability. Once the cars are sufficiently debugged, TVR will come to the USA. The Speed 6 engine needs to be able to do 100,000 miles without needing major work. I don't think the reliability is there.

Now now, just cause we never get the 'good' cars like you guys, don't think that there aren't people here who want a real sports car.
I know of people who think the new Federal Elise is too luxury/heavy.
Just send the damn things over, it'll all work out in the end.

Sorry to wake you up again, but you said in your first post that you "would love to see the ongoing running problems documented". Assuming this means what it says it's negative. Now you say you are a fan of British sports cars. Rich...
RichB, did you actually read all my comments? I'll try and re-iterate. I meant from the above comment that the dealer network would get a kick up the backside. The Fast Fleet section offers a concise view of ownership and the backup offered by the dealer network for each brand. I would love to see ongoing problems documented! and also see how a TVR dealer would deal with that. Its an opportunity for TVR to shine, which is exactly what the guys at EVO are advocating.
Tha facts are TVR does have a bad rep in terms of reliability and the dealer network does need to buck up their service levels somewhat (or do you disagree?).
TVR do make cracking motors. Customer service seems to be TVR's continual challenge, otherwise half the threads here wouldn't be about faults.

I'm an avid reader of Evo, there are always top articles on TVR. I am amazed at the backing they provide TVR when we've yet to see one of their Journo's take on a TVR in the "Fast Fleet" section of the week. I'd love to see the ongoing running problems documented in the mag.
Mudfish then said said:Didn't read anything about dealer network etc. in your original post however thanks for setting me straight, it's now about as clear as mud... Rich...

O.K. here's the deal... we'll send you TVRs...BUT.. you have to take Tony Blair as well.
Ohhh, you drive a hard bargain... done, box them all up and put on a ship to Canada.
PS. don't punch any airholes in TB's box, thanks.
