Does anyone else get the smell of antifreeze in the car when the engine is up to temperature and stationary
We mainly notice the smell when the fans cut in.
I think i must have a leak, because i have to 'top up' with water most weekends with aprox 1/2 ltr.I have checked all the hose clips (that i can reach!)
is this a common niggle??

Look in the air ducts for a rad leak, and go over your hose clips, and make sure they're all tight

Thanks for that mad-dot, i have checked out hose clips in every nook and crany. I was just a tad alarmed when i removed the inspection panel under the nose to have three jubilee clips fall out!!!
At the moment its going to be "suck it and see" as at the weekend we all go off to Kent for the multi region meet,so its fingers crossed, just incase i have made it worse.
Thanks again ...Dave

Take the car to castle and get them to do a pressure check on the coolant system. That should show you where the leak is if there is one

I have had 5 TVR's & everyone has had coolant leaks at some stage &, whilst I am new to Tamoras & the latest generation of cars, I am learning fast having had the car overheat in the first hour of ownership ! (Tamora Temps 1-3 saga). One thing that I was told by someone in the 'know' is that some of the stub pipes that the hoses attach to are aluminium & thus it is fine balance in terms of how tight you do up the clips; Not tight enough they leak & fall off - too tight & the stub pipe can start to collapse & you are in a worse position than when you started. Also, never use any metal tools to help lever off a hose to replace it as it may deform or mark the pipe.

Dont know if that helps but I think the summary is dont go mad when tightening the clips - maybe worth checking how tight one is that is not leaking before doing one up

Just got The T350C back from Castle, and they have solved the problem of the coolant smell in the cabin!!
The Rad had a hole in it and was replaced....End of problem.(i hope!!)
