On another note the guys in Henley Heritage have been fantastic
Maybe you can put in a good word for me then, and ask why they sold me a 2000 car with the chassis number ground off and what looks like a 1990 number applied? Can you ask then too where my V5 is? 5 months on and still no sign. They don't seem to want to talk to me about it.

Errrm, doesnt sound very good does it.
Have you taken legal advice as Im sure changing VIN plates is very dodgy. Probably also worth talking to the factory about it.
Good luck

I am already some way down the legal route. I'm surprised though that this is required against a recognised dealer in the face of some fairly clear questions about a vehicle's age and identity.
I think I'll need more than luck though. Nearly 6 months without a usable TVR and counting

Wow I think that's the tuscan I nearly bought !!!
Close call and unlucky William, I asume that is the one with the Chevy engine that was built for a customer that took something like 12 months longer than projected in the delivery time, and odly enough the customer then didn't want it.
Having said that I never thought it was a 2000 car so maybe there were two
Hope you get it resolved quickly as it looked like the ultimate TVR to me !!!
All the best

and another 3 months wait by me on top of that, and still not complete...and still not road legal or registered 6 months on
Count yourself very lucky you didn't get involved with this car.
