Oil Leak on first day
Discussion
Picked up the car this morning. Drove home, and took a few friends for a spin, as you do
Then parked it on the drive to have a good look over the car. I must say hear and now, that the standard of finish is absolute superb. There is just one concern.
When I moved the car to go out for another spin, I noticed some liquid on the drive. I stopped and got out, it was oil, probably about 12 to 18 drops.
I looked under the car and there is a stainless plate bolted under the engine and gearbox. It has a Black circular tube cut into it, which I presumme is the airintake.
The stainless plate is covered in oil and is dripping off of this onto the floor.
The dealers had shut by the time I noticed it. I have not as yet jacked the car up to look closer.
Any ideas where it may be comming from? Anyone else had a similar experience?
Other than that, The car is Fantastic

Hi Nigel,
Glad to hear that you have taken delivery of your new machine but sorry to hear you have a teething problem to sort out. I also had a slight fluid leak on my Tamora which I at first thought was engine oil but now suspect may actually have been power steering fluid. In my particular case the leak was very slight and only usually apparent after moving the car into a tight parking space, for example, where I had to use the power steering a lot. I'm probably on the wrong lines here but if you do check the engine oil level and find that it has not dropped then I would check the power steering fluid as well. Anyway hopefully whatever the source of the fluid is it will be just a case of tightening something up.
Just had a hairy moment in the tamora by the way. I nailed it in second coming off a roundabout (which I have done many times) only this time the rear broke free and spun out a bit. I kept on the gas but corrected too much and it promply kicked out to other side. I still kept flat on the gas, corrected again and she straightened up nicely. Was a bit wild even for me but it was a lot of fun ! It's quite cold today and I don't think the grip is quite as good as usual. Anyway, I shall be seeking to avoid a repeat performance.
See you soon
Phil

Glad to hear you are enjoying the limits of your Tamora Phil, was you A*se clapping together at the time
Have done about 200 miles in the car today, and that was not really going anywhere, just driving round getting to know the car
It is so frustrating keeping the revs down, but it makes a lot of sense for the long term longevity of the engine.
I have booked it in for the first service week after next, so can then start to enjoy the upper rev range.
The car has certainly attracted a lot of comment. Parked it in Tesco's this morning while getting a pint of milk, and there was a crowd round it when i come out. WOW, was the comment.

Nigel, you won't be exploring the upper rev range for some time I'm afraid. Still a lot of cajoling before you can plant the throttle. The first service is only the first step in running it in...

Hi Nigel,
Just wondered if you have got the oil leek sorted yet ? Hope it was not to difficult to correct and that you are in business now.
Phil
Yes, I took it into Castle's this morning. they put it up on the ramp, and it was leaking from one of the oil pipes. They also spotted that the water temp sensor was not funstioning as well, so changed that at the same time. So, yes we are back in business.
They have also sold my old Tamora this week, someone in Eastbourne is buying it. Anyone Here??
Parked the T350 next to the tamora, and the Widefire colour is definately slightly brighter than the tamora was.
The Car is fantastic, and after being without a TVR since the beginning of June,(other than yourself dropping in to give me a spin in your Tamora) am now taking the opportunity of getting some miles put on the car
The Service from Castles has been first class, as always.
A big thank you to Ian,Michael and Darren.Nothing is ever to much trouble for them.

Hi Nigel,
Glad to hear your all sorted now. You are right that the wildfire red is slightly different to the old version but it's still a cracking colour. I am very glad I chose it and actually slightly prefer the new paint I think.
Hope to see you at the Nov Club meet.
In the meantime : ENJOY!
Phil
