Just been ok'd by the better half to get rid of audi estate and get my first TVR.

This is where the problem seems to start. My heart is telling me to get a Tuscan, the head a T350C (especially after seeing that Halycom Midas Pearl one on here), but I also quite like Cerbera's (having never driven any I am going on pure looks).

I will be doing 10k per annum, and it will be my only car (therefore can't afford it to be off the road a huge amount), so need something half reliable.

I wanted to spend around 30-35k, but maybe willing to spend a little more.

Also, knowing not a great deal about any of the cars, would it be sensible to but from local dealer (Harrogate HC's).

Any advice ???

Congrats on permission - trickiest bit I reckon!

Haven't driven the tuscan or Cerb so can't comment on those models, but for me, if I love the car enough I'm sure I can live with it's foibles - which is why I ditched my Audi for a TVR. Too many faults and not enought love for the Audi...

Ex demo T350C might be a good bet, usually the dealers choose colours that work well.. As hawthorns are parting company with TVR you might be able to negotiate a bit on price on their very nice moonraker black T350C... Get them to fit the luggae cover though.

Have seen a few demos around at the 2-5 k miles mark, advertised around £37k, but I'm sure it's negotiable.

I reckon you could get a very good discount on second hand T350C's and even more on tuscans.

A realistic price for a fully loaded T350C is around 34-35k and be prepared to have lots of niggles as they are still new to the TVR production line.

It normally take TVR several years to sort the major niggles.

Hobo,
The Halcyon Midas one you want - is that the one @ Gorners, if so a mate of mine from Harrogate has been to see it twice and has offered them a deal for it - they are staying firm on price - apparently it's a factory car and they dont have much room to haggle.
BUT he says they are a great bunch up there and are very helpfull so have a go - you never can tell.
Glad to hear you've got wifey on your side - that's half the battle. The other half is staying out of it once you've got it!

Had a look on thier website, but the one your talking about is a Tamora (not keen), would like a T350C in this colour, but chance on finding one is slim, and buying new in this colour, with decent options list is over budget.

Looks more likely to be blue or black (how dull).

Whilst I agree in general with getting an ex-demo, in the case of the T350C I think you have to be careful. There have been a lot of minor changes since the early vehicles, mainly to resolve common problems. Its only recently for instance that they have started putting brackets on the rear diffuser to stop it coming adrift, which has happened to a number of cars. I think most things can be retro-fitted but probably worth having a list so you can demand that all are done on purchase.

I sold my TT back in Feb this year, and have had 2 Tuscans since. I've now got an ex demo 350(Black), and would say it's definately more a daily user car...and the difference in handling, is night and day

Hello again, when we last spoke you were still on your first tuscan - i can't believe you are now on your third TVR!!!

Is your T350C the ex Glenvarigil demonstrater? (Hope thats not a cheeky question). If so I have been taken for a passenger ride in your new steed by Derry - it is one amazing car!

I am not far away from you with a Tuscan (albeit an early one.) If I can be of any help in the decision drop me a mail.
