Anyone out there had a sticking throttle?
On the way home last night I had the throttle stick open - had to get on the clutch&break then kill the ignition pretty damn quickly. It started again and then was OK after that.
Then this morning I was about 2 mins into journey, accelerating away from a roundabout, changed into 3rd and throttle stuck again.
When restarted I would get the revs blipping from 1k to 3k three times and then going up to 5k (not good when the oil temp was only 12degC!). On the fourth attempt at starting it was OK again and remained so for the rest of the journey.
I thought it could be a mechanical issue - such as throttle pedal or cable needing lubricating (6k service last week) but with the 3 rev flairs on startup - could this be ECU? Anyone know if there is a an ECU failsafe that blips the revs if excessive throttle opening set at start?
Edited to add more detail so you don't think this post is a troll.

Last night I had some problems pushing the accelerator to full throttle (benfits of having a run in motor )- on investigation it was a trim panel on the RHS of the footwell that had come adrift and kept physically getting in the way of the pedal
I know it's not the same problem but it's worth a quick look to check that there's nothing fouling the pedal. Worth a try.

Hello, visiting from the Chim corner
Remember same problem on the Tuscan forum a while ago, link as below:
www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=47714&f=5&h=0&hw=throttle+sticking
Not sure if cable, etc the same as Tuscan, but could be helpful
Hope you don't have any more brown trouser moments
