Looking through the stats for the latest TVR's I noticed that the Tamora has a power to weight ratio only just short of the 4.5L Cerby and the Tuscan S, and way above the other Cerbs, the old 4L tuscan and the griffmera!!

Although it is a bit down on absolute power the kerb weight is substancially lighter, it is going to be bl**dy fast?

Dont really understand why TVR are saying it is a softer option, sh*t off a shovel is the only appropriate term - does anybody know if one has been figured yet by autocar??

Hi, Benno! The performance figures on those little Tamora postcards are the same as quoted in the Autocar test of Tamora, Boxster, Aero 8, and Jensen. Presumably they are tested figures. Auto Express tested the green press car and got similar figures. Fast, or what?!!!!

Bennno,

You're weakening aren't you - all this research in to the stats. Have you ordered your Tamora yet?

All things are, as they say, relative to the baseline with which you are making the comparison. In this case, I suspect the base is one of those jets being hurled off the end of Her Majesty’s carrier fleet!

I guess thats .2 faster to 60, .7 faster to the ton and similar top end to my current car. I guess i could live with that.

Was not convinced about the Tamora until the factory visit, but now feel it is the future of TVR. Silly things like the vastly improved interior (lovely dials, door sculptures, trim materials) the well resolved rear aerofoil (compared to the early mess) and the overall style makes some of the more traditional models start to appear old fashioned.

I think i will give it a year for bugs to be sorted and may place and order in Sep/Oct for next spring - as lead times are now late July meaning most of the summer will have gone!

Only concern is engine reliability, but i guess the next few months will hopefully confirm the 3.6 to be a good un.

The factory are giving a 2 year warranty on the engines, so they can't be that bad.

don't think the figures give the full story, I found the thing had instant throttle response and very little flywheel effect...in other words gallons of grunt anywhere, and the noise...where's me vaseline?
