I have just acquired my first TVR - Crystal topaz T350 from HL Gorner. What a ride!

Various relatives, friends and neighbours wanted rides, so of course I obliged. Watching their differing reactions to the car was brilliant - especially when I lightly depressed the loud peddle! Various reactions were, hand over the ears, swearing, silence (he was mid senctence) and a squeak (I won't embarrass my mum by naming her) The most amusing day I have had in ages!

Thanks to Mike and the Gang at Gorners!

The missus and I got flashed by a Ferrari in Leeds yesterday - never happened to me before - we were giggling like little kids.

Priceless.

Welcome to the wild and wonderful world of TVR-land!

If you'd like a blast in the Peaks sometime, get in touch - I drive a Tamora (probably the only one in South Yorkshire!!) and there's Rods and MrJohn who are fairly local, in their T350's. Snake Pass is a good venue.

Nubbin - sounds great, maybe not for a couple of w/ends yet though - other commitments.

Jigs -

My past two cars (both coupe's) have been variously called haidresser's cars! - The puma on the TT forum and the TT on this forum, maybe it's just me?

Anyone know what the actual size of the Petrol tank is - I've seen 63L and 56L quoted, I made a bit of a mess first time filling up and only got 44L in. Need more practice

There's nothing wrong with hairdressers cars going up-market. My fiancee is a hairdresser and loves our Tamora, but she wouldn't be sen dead in (for example) an MX5

Anyway, it's hair STYLISTS - hairdressers are for oily old men and their bay rum!!! (c)Mrs. Nubbin 2003

Yes! The Ladybower Inn at the entrance to Snake Pass is an ideal meeting place, so let's have a South Yorkshire TVR meet sometime soon (obviously not restricted to SY TVR's, d'oh!!)

Widjit, I'm sure Mrs. Nubbin would be very happy to meet you, so she doesn't get bored of all the TVR talk

BTW, the petrol tank on my Tamora never seems to fill more than 45litres, so don't worry - "they all do that, sir!"

I think it is 53 litres - assuming the T350 is the same as the Tamora.

Yep, that's good for me - either Saturday or Sunday is fine for us. Where, and what time?

Am tied up all weekend on the 25 / 26 Oct, could do the weekend after - 1 / 2 Nov - could call it pre-BTaP blast?

If not - no probs

Just seen your profile nubbin - was it you in the A8 in the convoy going up to BNG? Did your lady and children get alarmed at the rate of knots some were going I was in the dark blue chim with TVR plate you were following out of the little village before the long country road to Raby Castle

That was indeed me! The A8 is so refined and quiet that belting along at anything up to 140 is the same as cruising at 30! The kids love going fast and Mrs. Nubbin doesn't mind either

It was a good run, wasn't it!? But now I've got a TVR again, it'll be even better!

Sadly I can't make the following weekend as the kids will be at home, so it will have to be Sunday 26th. for me.

Fuel Tank -
If you fill up from when the fuel level indicates zero or near zero then you will only ever get about 50 litres - give or take 1 or 2 - into the tank. As I've said before, there is an 11 litre reserve which I do not believe is counted by the fuel gauge.
So it follows 50 litres from 'empty' + 11 litres reserve = quoted tank capacity.
