T350C aircon question.
Discussion
Can anyone tell me how(if) i can get cold air to the drivers side foot well on the t350c, over the last couple of week,s with this heat ,we are tending to get a nice cool left hand ,and a very sweaty right hand!!(we get cool air in the passenger foot well)
I would have thought that we should be able to get cool air down there, would'nt you??...(it must be me!!) Because tvr don't do totally stupid things like that......DO THEY????
So can someone please explain to me how i sort this??
I was told that the 'flaps' can be adjusted in the set up mode of the cars computer.
But as yet the only thing that come's out of the vent is hot air if i put the heater on.
Dave..

Dave,
I've been out in the 350 today with the air con on, I honestly can't remember if I could feel cold air by my feet, but I certainly did notice the heat sink by my feet when I switched it off.
Sorry, I couldn't give you a definite yes or no...
Tuan
Thanks Tuan, you are the only reply i've had so far.
Sombody must know the answer, c'mon you lot!!!

Could be incorrecly connected a/c hoses when it was put in at the factory? - I guess someone with a/c and a T350C needs to say if they do or don’t get cold air in the footwell even after opening the black vent down there…..
I get hot air from the foot well vent.
Basically there are three vents for the passenger, one on the dash, the other under the dash and the third on the transmission tunnel - the first two blow cold air, the third hot only.
Drivers side has two vents, one on the dash, the other on the transmission tunnel, dash blows cold, tunnel blows hot.
The other thing that I have noticed that if I drive with the windows down hot air from the engine bay is drawn through into the cabin and hot air blows from unkown sources in both passenger and driver foot wells (and the handbrake and surround get v'hot) this doesn't happen with the windows up.
Anyone else get Aircon failure error messages after about 10 mins of operation?

I get hot air at all times from footwell vents (if open) and get Air Con Fault Code 26 after 10 minutes or so.
New problem last week was air con all the time, even when the (very feint) LED was off. Dealer (HHC) checked this with the factory and they had not heard of the prob before (no news on fault code 26!). Said I wouldn't worry as it would probably right itself in the next 48 hours (it has).

My T350C Aircon has only the dash vent on the drivers side, conveniently TVR forgot to fit vent cover in the drivers footwell which gave me a lovely pink foot. This was fixed but I was told no cold air available from this vent. Aircon now has given up the ghost on a trip to Devon in the blazing heat and after a previous fix? so must wait again for a further day off the road. Getting a bit fraught but on my 4th TVR so should be used to it. Any one got a fix for the annoying steam up of the windscreen right in front of your eye line which the dealer thinks is amazing but can't fix! When it appears no amount of rubbing, polishing, coaxing etc will budge it.

When you say given up the ghost do you just mean blowing hot air ? If so go into the computer and select the factory menu ( option 8 ) then look for the "Flap Zero" setting. If this is set at 0, then set it to 16 and you will probably find everything is ok

Hi Lassie..Yippie! Yippie!(sorry) but i'm so pleased that someone else has the same problem with thair beloved T350c as we do!!!!
We have had the windscreen fogging up on the right hand side in sort of a "fan shaped pattern" ever since we had the car (May),as you say no amount of scrubbing seems to shift it!.
Ours doesn't do it all the time (only every sunday when we use the car).
When it happen's it is accompanied by a strong smell of engine coolant, and before anyone says, no its not windscreen washer fluid, because when we got the car there was no washer additive in the bottle and we used to smell it then!
During the heat wave it seemed worse, with it being 100 degree's outside ,there is no way that you should get condensation on the windows, (also i had'nt just had the aircon on)Which is pretty damn usless aswell.
I'm sure the guy's at Castle Tvr think we are mad, because we have been telling them about this for quite sometime.
But now i can tell them that you suffer with the same thing as we do, perhaps they might believe me now,
(eh!Ian/Darren/Mike).
Please let me know if you get it sorted.
Dave (valhalla)
PS..Feel free to show your Dealer this reply.

I get the misting up on the windscreen right in the eye line of the driver (me) all the time so I have resulted in cleaning the inside of the windscreen at least once a week with Autoglym Glass Polish (posh Windolene not the spray on stuff).
I get the feeling that this is actually condensation from the driver's (still me) breath rather than any heater related condensation as I always drive with the top vents closed - By the way, leaving the air-con on and blowing cold air into my face (via my left hand) seems to increase the amount of time required between cleans.
I don't like the thought that it is me that is misting up the windscreen particularly but I do think that it is worse if I have been driving enthusiastically (ahem) which I presume makes me breath harder and irregularly - I could be wrong though.
During the couple of T350 test drives I have back in Feb and March I noticed that the dealers demonstrator was particularly bad before I even go into it, this car didn't have air-con fitted.
Certainly by keeping the windscreen meticulously clean and using the air-con or at least ensuring a good flow of air keeps the misting up to a minimum and I get at least a week of clear vision using the car everyday.
Rain-X do an anti-mist treatment for the inside of glass which I presume is similar in concept to the chemicals they use inside the likes of Rally Cars to keep misting to a minimum - I've never used it personally but it could be worth a shot.

So Whitey, you thinking of swapping the Tuscan for a T350 then, seen you in this forum a fair bit recently...
Very unlikely, too slow for me
seriously I think the T350 C & T looks fantastic, it's just the smaller overall dimensions of the car in comparison to my Tuscan that puts me off...Bring on the T440R...
Hi Frostie, thanks for the reply but no, the aircon lost all the gas and after a quick fix at the dealer, lost it all again on the way to Devon. On Thursday the whole thing is going to be stipped down so wait with baited breath for Friday, then no doubt it will all go pear shaped again.
Hi valhalla & Nicksey thank the lord I'm not alone, thinking of shares in Halfords the amount of gunge I am directing at my patch of fog! Even tried piece of cloth on top of dashboard and that has been my best result so far, surely there has to be an explanation for this, hallo TVR how about it?

Hi Lassie, this is a strange one isn't it ! Do you get any 'smell' with yours when the fogging happens? However the guy's at castle Tvr are checking it out next week, because the car is going in for a rear paint job ,after the petrol cap ring fell off taking a strip of paint with it not long after we had the car back in May.
Also the having the speedo fixed which failed at the same time, however i wont go on with the list of prob's on here as i must be getting quite a name for myself for complaining about the car.
If anyone on here want's me to compare notes with thair probs you can email me via my profile, and let me know of some of yours(i'm sure you must have had some prob's!)
Thanks Dave (valhalla)
I have recently bought a T350C and have experienced the same problem. I went back to the dealer and asked if I could get cold air out of the vent in the driver's footwell. I was told that only hot air comes out of this vent and all T350C's are set up this way, which seems to be true!?
Let me know if you get any joy form elswhere.
Cheers,
Jase.

As previously mentioned, the top vents on the windscreen and the transmission vents on either side are Hot air only. The dash vents and under dash vent (passenger side) are cold only. The temperature mix is 'supposed' to happen in the cabin.
This tends to work OK, not as well as you would expect for a £2K system, but only if the flap zero setting is 16 or thereabouts. O will result in a very hot car!
However I also seem to get the drivers side window misting. I thought it was just me, so still miffed at it happening but at least I now know I'm in good company!

Yup most Tamora's have had the condensation issue too. For some reason mine didn't and is about the only problem It hasn't had
At one point it was suggested that it was only Bison clad cars which suffered this problem but I think this got dispelled fairly quickly. Some owners even had the windscreen refitted. TVR and the dealers have known about this one for nearly 2 yrs so my guess is that it cannot be cured without some major redesign work.
