You probably all know my Tamora is back with the dealer having a couple of things fixed. The door rubbing has been fixed, the windscreen resealed and the oil pressure sensor replaced (apparantly), but they can't stop the water getting in the side window/fram seals.

They've been working on the car since I took it in on the 15th of July. Now although I've had many apologies, one side still leaks and there appears no sign of when it will be back ... at what point do you think being p*ssed off should turn to shoving something up someone's arse at The Magical Servicing place?

More than a couple of days to fix leaks seems excessive to me. But hey, it's not going to rain next week - I'd pick it up today, get the top off and and worry about the leaks in the autumn.

Not that simple unfortunately. They've built up the fibreglass around the windscreen as well as stripping some from the door (all reportedly, I've not actually set eyes on the thing in nearly three weeks).

Once the leaks are fixed it needs spraying ... I am sick to death of the whole saga, particularly as this is the third time they've had the car since I bought it in April.

Oh sh1t, sorry about being flippant when the problem was so involved. In that case I'd want a meeting with the service manager next to the car, pronto, and would be pushing for an extended test drive of another motor on their (probably) well-stocked forecourt while they got it fixed.

Hope you get it resolved soon.

I would demand that they give you another TVR to drive while they continue to work on yours. This should force them into action as potentially it will cost them money, since its a car they could be selling or using for demonstrations.

Jeez Nige, that's some heavy work their doing... I think a nice telephone call to the M/D would perhaps get things moving.

Or use some detective skills (192.com) and get some home telephone numbers of Director's etc.. I did this once with SCS-Furniture (Got home number for the Director c£352k pa salary! + Bonus, etc). Left a message with his wife saying that I'd called, and it was important to give him my name. Called the head office next day (regarding a conversation with the M/D’s wife), funnily enough within less than a week, all things were sorted..

Jason, I rang the General Manager on Friday (not for the first time) and told him I'd be bringing the Focus back today and either driving home in my Tamora or something else off the forecourt. Shortly thereafter came the joyous news that it's now watertight and should be being sprayed as I type and ready for collection tomorrow after valleting .... we'll see.

Anyway, I wouldn't want to start another thread about poor build quality/inept dealers or anything else non positive on the TVR front. I think three weeks turnaround on a water leak's pretty rapid and impressive and makes me so pleased I chose to buy TVR and enjoy the best Ford can mass produce robotically during the hottest summer since '76.

Nige,

Think I'm due up next with the TMS Focus as my T350 goes in for some cosmetic sticking back together !!!.

Am looking forward to getting it and being able to post a quick time through the Milton Keynes roundabout system.

Just be careful at the mo, as the MK council seem to be on a 'lets re-surface with stone chips, perfectly good road surfaces, and leave slippery and poor surfaced round-abouts alone' at the moment. I've found 4 so far (that really didn't need to be done) and the re-surfacing always stops about 50 yards before the round-abouts. Great in the wet, nice new grippy surface, 50 yards from the round-about (in the maximum braking area) surface chance, and back to nice old diesel spilled slippery tarmac.

This country...!!!

Andy, I hope you're not in possession of the TMS Focus as long as I have been, it's getting rather tiresome now. Latest return date has somehow slipped to Wednesday ... a lack of valetters!!

If your problems are anything you could fix yourself I'd recommend you did ... or take the thing anywhere other than Melton Mowbray ... Scotland, a couple of nights in a B&B and return might be quicker in the long run!

..... nope very dissapointed not to get the infamous Focus. Have the pleasure of a very nice Volvo Estate (must dig out me pipe and slippers).

anyway took my assorted set of loose (side windows, headlight covers) and completely detached (rear venturi, numberplate, rear window strip thingy) along to be "fixed".
