Anyone know what (and done it themselves) will completely remove the melted adhesive from the gearstick gaiter without leaving little bits of cloth and globs of glue everywhere?
I don't think that I can wait for the 1k mile service next week to clean this up - its like sticking your hands into an Alien egg and getting slimed! (Or a pot of honey to use another metaphor.)
Once removed, does anyone have any suggestions for an adhesive that will withstand the temperatures generated by the transmission (which isn't too great incidentally because I can still hold the gear stick knob when it’s at its hottest).
Cheers (I may be up to my elbows in TVR batter but I'm still loving it!)
Oh and hello to Quinny who I met on Saturday, he went past as I was pulling out of my drive and stopped for a chat and a quick spin around the block - your Griff sounds evil with that sports exhaust.

Thanks Nubbin, does this actually remove all the glue residue?
Any ideas of a better adhesive for this purpose - oh and I'm glad you're OK friend.
