Extras now in the T350
Discussion
Hello Guys,
Can anyone tell me if TVR are duty bound to supply my T350 with the additional equipment that is now put in as standard - ie the boot cover and Door Sill Chrome Plates?
Should i ask or am I wasting my time. My T350 was one of the very first out of the factory. They are obviously improving things like door speakers which are essential.
Can anyone help?
Miles

Hi Miles,
For example, on Tuscans the kickplates were (mostly) retro fitted but I think you had to argue with the dealer to get the door opening buttons moved to the radio pod if you had an earlier car. The kick plates I think were part of the original spec. however. What does it say about T350s ?
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Andy.

I think all car manufacturers use the following 'get out of jail free' card:-
The manufacturer reserves the right to change specification without notice...
..some do accomodate as gestures of good will though.
I suppose that it depends on how much it's likely to cost them, kick plates may be OK but I imagine that the load cover in the boot isn't cheap. If I remember rightly Fish (and Mrs Fish) has had a cover retro-fitted.
I've just had some pics through of my T350 that I am collecting this weekend, the boot cover, revised glove box lid and sun visors are there but not the front speakers (as seen in the press car) - I'll be speaking to the dealer today!

Miller, not being funny, but consider how this would affect other car companies.
With TVR, updating older spec models will cost a fair bit of money, but if Ford were to do it, imagine how much time, effort and money it costs.
I'm afraid this is called progress, and unless you have a particularly generous dealer, I sincerely doubt you'll get these modifications, unless you put your hand in your pocket.

TVR has always been like this, why would they change?
Basically, if you order an early car, be prepared for it to be outdated almost immediately with minor changes.
TVR use their customers as their R&D mules rather than put 100k miles and day2day usage on one of their cars.
The dealer should have explained this really. My dealer originally tried putting me off buying one of the first red rose tuscans off the line for this very reason.... and I should have listened really....doh.

Miles, over the past 18 months I've had quite a few mods retro fitted to my Tamora. Some have been FOC but others have been payed for, eg. alloy handbrake surround.
I think it just depends on your dealer, if the car ever needs a trip back to Blackpool, what the mod is, etc.
Cheers.... Andrew
