I have been invited along to a trackday round Donington in my Tamora. The car will have covered about 4,000 miles by then but is still on the "intermediate oil". Will the car be alright to be tracked on this or should I get the 6,000 mile service done early?

Any thoughts much appreciated.

I considered my Tamora fully run-in after its 1000 mile service. It's now done 12,500 miles with no engine problems.

Don't forget that the handbook says that after only 250 miles you should start to increase the revs until full power is reached. For me (advice from dealer and factory) this meant an extra 500 rpm for each 100 miles.

So if you've done 4000 miles just go out and enjoy the track day.

Cheers..... Andrew

most dealers aren't using the mineral upto 6000 they a re going to fully sybthetic at 1000. Should be fine fro the track after 4000.

Ask your dealer what oil they put in it.

Dealer said the car is using semi-synthetic at the mo with the upgrade to fully syn' to be done at the next service. Would you recommend changing to fully syn' before hand?
