front number plate for T350

just taken car for wash and got a we bit carried away and took the stupid stick on number plate of the front of the car. Im sure this is illegal but how illegal is this as motorbikes dont have them on!!?
The car lloks so much better without it on it should be made illegal to HAVE a number plate on any TVR!!
Bets now on for how long I can blag this one for. Suggestions for best excuses to Mr policeman would be welcome

there have been threads about this before on gassing.
I suggest you leave it off, keep it in the boot and say it has just fallen off. I dont think you get done for it , just asked to sort it.

Just a little advise. The majority of the police forces are now running these automatic number plate readers. Basically your car drives passed a camera in a van which reads your plate checks your car against all data bases - tax, insurance, police, customs ect - and if there are any markers you are stopped further down the road. If your car does not have a plate I am aware that officers discretion has been removed and they have been ordered to issue tickets - £30 no points.
Be wanted!!!

I hit a peasant just after I got the Chim. I had no front plate for just over 5 months and in that time didnt get pulled once.
