Tamora in EVO car of the year
Discussion
Thats still a great performance for TVR and one we should all cheer. It's also one in the eye to all the w***rs who keep slagging it off, like they can't wait for TVR to fail. It's rather annoying when people claim to love TVR and then slag them off if they don't like the design of the latest car. I am not keen on a couple of TVR's that have been produced over the years but I would never slag TVR off without being constructive.
Thank God for TVR.
Long live the King of British Sports car building, noise and power!!!!

Dont be too disheartened, the M3 is a bloody good car, it is wiping the floor in GT racing over in the States.
Tamora is in Autocar, Evo and Car this month!!
911 gets beaten in to 5th spot in the Evo test, but makes it in to the autocar top 10 cars of 2001, but the tamora does not.
Funny how they can all have such differerent results.

lets face it we would all love a tamora.
Not everyone, I am quite keen (hate the back end mind) but the missus hates the whole car, she`d in it she thinks, cause it looks like an MRS from the Front and a Fiat crapheap from the back..
Ne1 know where I can get a decent gf ??
If the Missus doesn't like it every reason to get it then!!!
if I did what my Missus wanted I wouldn't be driving a TVR at all. I would be sitting in a bloody £25,000 conservatory planning DIY.
And I would rather have a Tamora than a bloody conservatory any day!!
I don't think it's the prettiest car TVR have ever built but the back end is built for go not show.
Go and have a drive and you will find out why the press are raving about it.
As for the front end it's just a revised Griffith front. MB5???
What are you are on about???
I wonder, Jason, have you and the "missus" actually seen a Tamora, or are you doing like most critics, looking at a few photos and deciding on your opinion? Go and see one - it is a great looking little car and far better-proportioned in the flesh, than can be judged from mug-shots. The colour makes a big difference too, and I don't think reflex green does much for the car, as it accentuates the curves. Silver ones look excellent, as do the blue ones and yellow.
I am now doubting the Chim purchase and I am starting to think I should have waited for the Tamora.
Would really love to see one in Chameleon Black though (the green/purple/black reflex) as I saw the Tuscan in that colour in the For Sale section and it looks pretty damned special!
Still, I'm happy with the Chimp, got to love that V8 roar!
Matt.

Nubbin, both my opinion that the rear is awful and the others halfs overall dislike stems from the fact that we went to Castle TVR and spent over and hour in and around a Silver one. I will be going back there to test drive it in a week or two, and if it is as nice a drive as everyone says, then I`ll be in a dilemma.. As I said, I like the front, but the back isn`t as nice as my Chimaera..I may just opt for the easy way out and get a 5.0 Chimaera.
The MRS is the MR2 newer version ??
MB5 or whatever I`m afraid I have no idea what he was on about

Sorry mate MB5 was mishit keys!!
Don't think it looks like an MRS either though!
If you genuinely dont like it I can live with that. What gets my goat, like nubbin, is that a lot of people are judging it without having a really close look and most importantly a test drive.
I would have bought another Cerb or Griff and wasn't planning on buying a Tamora at all until I drove it,and I promise you it's the best handling, least dangerous(my Cerb was licence threateningly quick, Griff scary in wet!)easiest to drive and most comfy TVR I have been in yet.
It also appears to be the only TVR ever to go to the wind tunnel at Mira which is why the rear looks like it does.
Have a go in one and let us know what you think mate.
I can't wait for mine to arrive!!

The back is a bit strange, but overall I think it's a stunna. You'd get used to the back in no time and, besides, the only people who'll see it will be the ones you're pulling away from at a quite absurd rate!
I am also a huge fan of the noise from my V8, but I loved the quote in EVO about the way the Tamora sounds - like a 1960s racing car/a cross between an E-type and an Austin Healey.
I reckon that if you've ordered one, you should be bloody pleased with yourself. I think I'll be in the market after a few payrises have dulled the nasty effects of my first ever mortgage!
