Just brought a second hand T350C
Discussion
Hi all, just got myself a silver T350C from my local dealer, it now has 400 miles on the clock and is booked into TMS for it's 1000 mile service on the 18th on June. So far i have over a dozen things for them to sort! mostly trim etc. The rear glass hatch is a terrible fit and will barly open or close, also i don't seem to have much in the way of oil pressure but they tell me that it's most likely the sender (i hope). Just hope it's all sorted at the 1000 miler....
I have not got the full spec of my car but it seems to have much bigger brakes than the one's i've seen in the show rooms, they messure well over 320mm across, was there an option to have bigger brakes from the factory?
I will give an update after the first service is done.
cheers
Scott

trefor ... I recently bought a not very old Tamora from TMS, and to be honest it was far from perfect when I took delivery. It's been back to have the niggles fixed ... unsatisfactorily. I spent all day Monday tidying up a couple of things and now it has to go back as the gearbox seems to be giving up. So far I'm neither impressed with the service nor the state the car was when it was sold. I wonder if they're sold on in whatever state they're p/xed, with the intention that the faults can subsequently be fixed under a warranty claim rather than prior to sale.
So far I'm not happy, but not getting overly excited. If the gearbox isn't sorted promptly next week I'm liable to go off the deep end .... patience has never been my forte.

Not good at all and echoes my recent experiences.

Oy! I think you should be talking to tvr trevor, not me, Trefor.
I do plan to buy a Tamora/T350 Convertible (if one exists) next year though ...
The build quality is crap, bits have fell off,the air con is next to useless, the front fogs dont work, the back glass doesnt fit,nor do the doors come to that, the lights on the window buttons dont work, its damp on the passenger side footwell, the wipers hit the bonnet,so does the air box,if you go over 80 when you put the window up it doesnt fit properly, the bolts that hold the rear glass keep going loose so the hole thing moves, the strip that goes along the top off the glass has come off,
Do you want me to go on,and before anyone says thats tvr for you dont bother cos when you pay 40 grand for a car this should not happen...

bear with it.
mine bonnet was also catching on the airbox and wipers but both now sorted.
get the air con looked at, mine is the total opposite it was stuck on maximum chill and this was sufficient to ice up the compressor pump and send fog from the vents, so its definately a very powerful system when it works.
Just draw up a list and drop it back in, after the first 6 months it will have bedded in and will then be ok for a time!
Bennno
Deepdive,
Echo bennno's sentiments here. I had a few of your "features" and some others as well and they were all put right at the first service. The engine is also much smoother and idles better at cold after the service.
For anyone who's interested TMS did my service. They were not the supplying dealer (we'll be meeting them in court shortly) but they seem to do a good job, charged me a nominal rate for service and I'm happy again with TVR ownership (for this week anyway)
My aircon's working a treat (the glove box is a great fridge) and am glad took the advice of this forum and spent the money on it

You are right about the glovebox, I posted the same comment on a thread somewhere (don't ask me where).
We have only had a few little niggles with ours, but they were all sorted at the 1000 mile service. I don't want to rub it in to all those people who seem to be having problems, but to hell with it... our car is fab and seems pretty solid, the air con works really well and Fish says it is getting better and better with every mile put on it. :touchwood:

This is a new model, TVR test new models with the customers, Its always been like that and once the niggles like rubbing airboxes loose fittings etc are sorted it should "stay together", they are durable in the long term, plenty of 10 year old TVRs about with everything still working and without bits falling off.
