350 Tamora Update.
Discussion
Whilst speaking to a "Top Man" from TVR over the weekend at Silverstone I managed to extract the following information that might be of some interest and may put a few disagreements to bed.
1. T350T is on it’s way. The first one came out of the mould late last week. They have not driven one yet and don’t know if there will be a major buffeting problem or even in the panels will work properly. At this point in time there are no customer cars in build.
2. There will be two long removable panels with a central T- bar running down the middle of the car. The roll bars will stay in place above the doors. The two sections will then stow in the rear either in the boot or behind the seats.
3. The Tamora will not be scrapped or changed. Nor will the front or the rear of the 350 be grafted on. The Tamora is the convertible the 350 is the coupe and that’s the way it will stay. They are happy with the way the Tamora is selling. There are no plans to build a convertible 350 and the shape the body would not allow this anyway.
This is only what I was told, as we all know with TVR things can and normally do change from day to day.
Great Weekend at Silverstone with a brilliant result for the GT boys, well done TVR !!

Is this new news?
Are you a 'T' customer?
If no then this is gossip...sorry, nothing personal.
Those who ordered 'T's early should have had a series of updates, keeping THEM informed of ALL developments. I know I have....
As for stowing the panels behind the seats, I think they'd either have to sell to very short people or extend the wheelbase to accomodate that...
Again nothing personal but all this does is raise the same issues from previous posts all over again.
I thought Ted's earlier advice was to steer clear of this topic until there was concrete, tangible newsworthy items.
edited to add the behind the seats comment!

Tam Girl said: Sorry **999** but I was with Hatchn when this information was given and it is exactly as he states above and is certainly not gossip.
Sorry, to clarify, what Hatchn appears to be passing on is old information that doesn't tie in with what at least two customers with 'T's on early order have been told by the factory. I think this may be part of a reaction by TVR over the criticisms that have been aired over the 'T'. Hence when we know there's one at the factory, no-one appears to have access to it unless by invite ('T' customers)... understandable really...
So it is impossible then for anyone else to have any information from anyone at the factory unless they have personally ordered a T250T?
I don't think someone would make up news like this...Hatchn has obviously had a conversation with someone and I don't think you can categorically say what has and has not been said and whether it is all gossip or not. It seems that unless you have heard it from whoever your source is you are discounting everything that anyone else says about it. Stop getting so personal over any comments made... we shall all see what is gossip or not when the damn car finally hits its potential customers... It seems to me that you are trying to seem more important and in the know than anyone else because YOU happen to have one on order...

Well that about sums it up - you will not be getting any more info from me regarding the 'T' - actual fact or confirmation of comments made by others. I look forward to driving the car when arrives firmly in between the cheeks of those that have made this such an interesting debate!
I'm off to do a Capt Oates....
But like I said, "The first one has only just come out of the mould" They have not even road tested a 350T yet. If there is one at the factory it can olny be a 350C that has been chopped about. I'm not saying it does not exist all I was saying is that the "real thing" has yet to be built and tested and there are real concerns about bufferting as has been mentioned on here before. I for one hope that do get the T up and running.............

you have mail....
This all seems a bit crazy Every so often I pop to this subject to see what the latest is. I am not in a position to buy a new TVR at the moment but strangely I get enjoyment from the excitement of others who have, and I like to follow their experiences of choice/purchase to delivery, this also goes for used as it reminds me of when I bought mine.
Waiting for news and conformation from TVR is nothing new; I remember it happened with the Tuscan. So why all this anger??
**999** - I guess that maybe you are a new TVR customer, thinks are a bit different here so maybe you should consider buying something from a 'Car Supermarket' where you can drive your car straight off site and not have to wait and spoil it for others in the meantime.

Part of the fun of TVR ownership is not knowing which the rumours to believe. You look at the evidence and choose what to believe. Where we can establish fact we'll publish the news, where it's still uncertain we'll watch on as various tid-bits emerge.
TVR get a bit annoyed about the rumours and that's understandable. On the other hand, owners of all cars try to second guess what a manufacturer is up to - that's part of the ownership experience.
999, it is not up to you to place an embargo on gossip here. You claim to be privvy to inside info on what is really happening and just seem to delight in blowing your own trumpet about that fact.
Please leave the rest of us to revel in our ignorance and enjoy the speculation, gossip, rumours and the facts that do emerge from them.
Now, where were we...

Oh well *999* is off again....only this time it's someone else....
I was actually in Blackpool last week at the factory and spoke to several people including people working on the T350T. What Nick has been told is correct, they have cut the panels out of the green press car (the one used on Top Gear and are in the process of seeing if what they have designed works or not.
I find it quite incredible that a guy who was here shouting that he would be driving his T350T in May has the front to question what anybody posts on here.
The fact is, the car isn't ready and probably wont be for several weeks if not longer. They haven't driven it yet and don't know what the effect of cutting the roof panels out will have the cars stability at high speed or whether it will suffer from buffetting or not.
End of story.

I spoke with somebody at TVR factory a couple of weeks ago whom I can't name other than to say he drives in the Tuscan challenge and isnt Peter Wheeler.
He confirmed its someway off yet, with green motorshow t350c having been modified to have 2 removable panels for testing. Its not rocket science once its ok to make it waterproof etc therefore it will probably just be a couple of months off.
Given 999 was claiming delivery in May and ridiculing any doubters perhaps he is full of drivel?
