Got the T350C on Wednesday and it is everything I had hoped for. Great looks, fantastic noise and goes well (albeit limited to running in restrictions!).

A few niggles and some questions:-

1) Engine seems to "pink" easily. Filled up with 95 RON as the handbook says but second refill with 97 RON - not much improvement. Could this cure it once lower octane washed through or more likely needs re-tuning at 1000 mile service?

2) Chose anti-chip primer but have still picked up a couple of stone chips already. Doesn't bode well for the next 10,000 miles! Any ideas why it should be so susceptible and is Armourfend the only solution - if so, cost for the front end?

3) Passenger door rattles a bit - presume can be adjusted to cure?

4) Had a couple of warning codes - fuel sensor and air con - but reset to normal display mode and haven't returned. Just the usual symptoms I presume?

5) Bonnet rubbing on air-box causing groove and wipers fouling bonnet - both common complaints I think?

Otherwise, all OK (touch wood) - I love it!

Anyone with more miles under their wheels got any answers to the above?

I'm afraid I have no answers for you, but Fish may have when he gets round to reading the post. I just wanted to say I am glad you are enjoying it we love ours too, but unfortunately they are chipping rather easily but everything else is making up for it at the moment

BTW it keeps on getting better and better the more miles you put on it

Snakes,

Glad the wait for your car is over and your enjoying it.

I've just had my 1,000 mile service and I now have the car I was hoping I'd get from new. What I mean by this is that at delivery I had a factory fresh car and all the excitment that goes with it. BUT it had faults (rattly and difficult to open doors, headlights askew, and some of the other things posted on the forum). What with the pain of running it in well its rather like having Nell McAndrew as a girlfriend but not being able to play with her !!!

Anyway got the 1000 miles service done + "things fixed/adjusted" and now I have a SORTED car, whose performance can be used. So my advice for other new owners is that true T350 ownership starts at 1000.

Thanks apex and mrs fish. Anyone else got answers to the specific questions asked?

Snakes

p.s. Where can I get hold of the correct type of Red Bull Blue touch-up paint for the chips?

Right, I've now done 3,600 and will be taking mine round Europe soon.

I have had no rattles and the car appeared very well screwed together, I can only suggest they are resolved at the 1000miler.

Mine does pink quite easily especially when very hot. I alternate Optimax through it and it is alot better however it will be a point for a retune at the next service. I think it's probebly just a factor of timing.

I did have an Aircon warning code as I left the dealer but once reset it has never reshown itself and the Aircon has always worked faultlessly.

My front did chip easily to start with as the paint is very low down and probebly still curing. After about 1-2 thousand it has hardened up alot more. I don't know what the longterm fix will be for TVR as the nose on the car is just so low.

Hope this helps......the car is great though, best made and best handling TVR I've ever driven. For day to day use it's great as the power doesn't really come in to 4000rpm thus sub 4000rpm you have a nice easy quiet GTI like performance....over 4000 it just launches itself and keeps going.

Can't wait to have a chat with the Porsches etc on the Autobahns oh and the Ferraris in Italy.

1) Engine seems to "pink" easily.

You shouldnt really be noticing this if you are running it in carefully as you are not supposed to either let the engine labour or use more than half ish throttle? It does get a big, big service at 1k with proper setting of valve clearances etc.

2) Chose anti-chip primer but have still picked up a couple of stone chips already. Doesn't bode well for the next 10,000 miles! Any ideas why it should be so susceptible and is Armourfend the only solution - if so, cost for the front end?

Mine seemed to pick up about 150 stone chips in the first thousand and now is much better. Guess the paint hardens over time.

3) Passenger door rattles a bit - presume can be adjusted to cure?

Possibly. buy some earplugs.

4) Had a couple of warning codes - fuel sensor and air con - but reset to normal display mode and haven't returned. Just the usual symptoms I presume?

My air con alarm went off and my car now needs a new air con ECU.

5) Bonnet rubbing on air-box causing groove and wipers fouling bonnet - both common complaints I think?

They all do that sir. My air box is sorted now, wiper still needs fixing.

Love the colour and interior of your car. Must admit, I bought a Tuscan S about 4 months ago but the more I look at the T350, the more I think it is a beautiful car. Can't wait to see what the T version looks like and might consider a trade in next year. From what I've read on this forum most owners seem to think it is well put together. From the ones I've seen and been in, they feel more solid than my Tuscan. Maybe its physcological.....what do you think? do you think the QC has improved on the T350's over some of the other models?

Ok Jigs have it your way... You eat the fish with green gills and I'll stick to the ones with pinky/red ones. I think perhaps, the fish on the slab in your mongers are either tainted with mercury or the wash-out from Windscale R...
