Anyone know anything about this?

Peter Smith's mentioned this to me yesterday and I was wondering if anyone had any info or opinions...

It doesn't sound like Armourfend or any coating over the paint (undercoat gives it away).

Apparently it is now a factory option although the dealer couldn't confirm the price or whether it was effective or not.

Car in build next month so I was wondering whether it is worth (unknown amount) getting...

Thanks.

Its a plasticised primer I think that sits between the GRP and the colour coat.

Dont know how effective it is though...

Webbs were offering it at £100 on top of the price of a normal front end respray, so to do the whole car wont be that much I wouldnt have thought...

Matt.

I had a chat with the paintshop that resprayed my Tamora's front end - these products do exist, but it can be difficult to overspray and get an even finish, apparently. Have a chat with TVR's paint people - they might be the best ones to talk to.

Hi

I would very highly recommend this - I have had it on my Tuscan - after 1500 miles the front end was trashed, resprayed, 1500 miles again front end was trashed - 5k miles after respraying with the cushion paint virtually unmarked (still doesn't prevent the boulders thrown up damaging the car though).

The paint finish isn't quite as good, but the difference is negligible. The paint itself apparently comes from Greece. I think the cost is around £100.

I was told about it when I was ordering my T350C at the factor. The cost was £50 but managed to negotiate it FOC.

Thanks for all the advice, it definitely sounds worth going for, a small loss of paint finish quality is a small price to pay if it keeps the front end looking fresh for longer.... I seem particularly prone to stone chips (my cars are, not me) - must be a combination of driving style and the type of roads I spend most of my time driving!!

Cheers

Any pictures, or further details, Ben? My Tamora will need a front end respray, and I don't fancy another £500 for Armourfend! E-mail me if you prefer.
