Well, the sun came out long enough to drive home topless, as you do, but after three or four efforts at getting the roof in the boot I gave up and put it back on.
Back home, without an audience, I finally got it in but it did almost require forcing, and the seals popped out the roof. Okay, the 15" rubber overhang (slight exaggeration) on the seal doesn't help, but should it really be that difficult. I notice the roof fabric is slightly worn at the corners as well, I guess someone else has been forcing it in previously.

Admittedly it does look pretty ugly when the boot is open, but you won't believe the difference it makes. I can almost lift the roof panel in and out of the boot with just one hand now.
alt has also fitted the mod to his car recently and was equally impressed.
