Burying The Hatchet
Discussion
Ok, just read the comments on the closed thread following my 'test drive'.
Whilst not entirely relevant to this topic, seems appropriate to place it here - the scene of the 'spats' so to speak.
I'm quite willing to bury the hatchet so long as certain individuals quit making insulting personal remarks. As far as I'm concerned, we'll agree to differ so long as the principal at stake - i.e. everyone is allowed their opinion - is upheld by all and no one resorts to personal criticism.
Whilst I don't feel obliged to provide any details of any experience whatsoever I do feel it may be helpful to outline the following:
I've been a Police Officer at various ranks and in many roles for 17 years and I think that gives me sufficient experience to comment on legal matters. This may help to explain my low tolerance to matters others consider unimportant. If someone asks me a question, I don't and won't beat around the bush, cos' that's somewhat of a waste of energy....
I've owned TVR's for nearly 15 years and I think that allows me to comment on them with a modicum of experience.
As for my 'test drive', well that was a favour from my dealer, and with respect to them I won't be naming them here. We covered nearly 500 miles over three days, on motorways, A and B roads, along with a particularly nasty C road with speedhumps that have previously broken the suspension on a 4X4 (subject of an article in the local paper a while back) and damaged my current TVR, so I guess that qualifies me to comment on my experiences, which on the face of it seem very similar to those owners out there.
So here I will end with the request that everyone (me included) chills out and just gets on with passing on experiences and opinions, ever bearing in mind that the chap(ess) posting the original question only wants an answer, not page after page of angry rhetoric.. Now I'm off for a few

Sorted, when people who are unknown to others post here they are, obviously an unknown quantity and missunderstandings occur if (I'm trying to be tactful here) said newcomers appear a tad forceful (sorry if that offends it is in no way intended to)
It's happened before and will happen again, you can't see a facial expression when you read a comment.
Ted has put in place certain 'indicators' and facilities to enable all of us to get an idea of who we're talking to, ie the number of posts and length of posting next to your nickname. The profile is also a good place to bung some stuff down to let others see whats what.
If I've just taught you to suck eggs, sorry just trying to help, now I'm gonna have a beer

***999*** regarding the comment about 'individuals' making personal comments, I think that was only one person and it was a 2 way street as you were also pretty guilty.
I think the point is on here that everybody has a jest but that nobody likes to be contradicted in a (ahem) brash way.
My joke posts on an earlier thread had a couple of people in tears laughing based on the situation, i sincerely hope that it caused you no offence and you took them in the spirit intended.
Lets all foget about it now, and look forward to seeing who gets to 'bury the hatchet' first

Agree whole heartedly with the the intention behind this thread, LIFES TOO SHORT not to agree with it............It takes a BIG man to offer the hand and a lesser one to turn it down.
So lets get on with making noises down the country lanes (understand that I've just spent the last 4 days in the family wagon up and down the West country, thinking "this would be a nice road to be in the Tiv" ) instead of bickering in cyberspace .
Lets not make today a 'hug a tree' day but more a lets 'embrace a twin 3" tail pipe' day .
Harry
PS AIMHO and not ment to undermine anyones standpoint or point of view with regards to current relationships
