Rubber Seals on Roof panel
Discussion
I normally use the handle of a tea spoon to ease the seals back in.
I also recently glued mine with Araldite adhesive, which seemed to do the trick for a few weeks, but I noticed yesterday that the seal above the drivers door is starting to come out again.
I seem to recall someone using a screw or rivet to secure the ends of the rubber, but I can't remember who it was, or how they did it.
Edited to add the following post from nubbin last summer -
The seal is a double wall tube, and I made a small nick in the outer wall. At the leading corner of the panel are screws holding the seal carrier. Take these out, glue the seal again (I used lots of superglue) then screw the small screw through the hole you made, through the inner wall of the seal, and into the screw hole into the panel. It holds the seal in the carrier groove nicely, and I've never had any problems since.

Coops,
My passenger side seal came out fully on Saturday when I was taking the roof off with the window still up (had a fantastic early morning drive). Anyway, I just slotted it back into the runner from the front end and then just slid the rest of it through by pulling on the end...sounds a bit rude that :-)

to put the seals back in quickly without tolls just stretch them a few inches - makes them narrower and they easily slip back in and contract to normal length. To stop it happening again, cut the excess length to about an inch (you dont need more to prevent leaks), screw the aluminium sleeve retaining screws through the rubber AND sleeve into the roof panel, and superglue for good measure. It was nubbin's idea last year and works a treat.
The best fix for this is to use Nubbin's. Take the last screw out from the metal runner, put the rubber seal back in and then put the screw back in through the rubber seal. Beacuse of the shape of the seal its totally invisible. A dab of super glue at the end finishes the job. Since doing mine I've never experienced any problems.
