T 400 V 911 Turbo
Discussion
I wonder whether the factory will start to get enquiries from the 'dark side'once this becomes an everday occurance .
Having seen Flashers 'tame' varient going around Bruntingthorpe last weekend, the mind boggles to think what the 'breathed on' versions are really like, one can only dream .
BTW

It's a factory 'performance pack'. Adds 'Double Injection' to the 3.6 litre engine with a few other tweaks to raise power to 400bhp. Comes with uprated brakes and the option for a sequential gearbox.
I await my T with 400BHP with much glee
Barefoot how is your car running?
I thought there was a problem with the exhaust meaning full power was not available? Or was it something to do with not having the right chip from J. Ravenscroft and therefore pinking was an issue?
What are your impressions?
Doe the engine feel that much different to the stock 350bhp 3.6 litre version?

It goes in on Monday for the full big bore exhaust and chip. Might have to be engine out to fit the manifold! It is running fine as my pal in his 911 turbo just found out......and it is not the full 400bhp till the exhaust and chip are done. Don't know how it compares with normal 350 but it has less torque than my red rose Tuscan had but is smoother and has more top end. Oh and is so much more easier to drive fast more planted on the road and not as twitchy.
Will give you an update after the exhaust and chip. Taking it to Nurbergring over Easter with about 10 other pals in evo's skylines etc, should be fun.

Craigw....will just be back from Germany by then so will be struggling thanks though.
As for my "911 story" well my Tuscan pi##ed all over a GT3 but the turbo was def not as easy! Obviously not on UK roads and I don't race on the public highway but if there had been more room I was gonna get past, even let him pull away then caught him up and pulled along side just to rub it in!
One of my mates (who won 10 million on the lottery)has a GT2 (the one with the pop riveted arches) which really can shift so will be interesting to see how it compares, but not until exhaust and chip fitted!

Barefoot look forward to your report. Sounds great up to now.
I think the standard 3.6 engine is smoother than the the 4.0S Tuscan lump in any case from my limited driving comparison. Your engine will be awesome when fully sorted out.
I thought the exhaust was a long lead time item.
Do you have the double injectors or will the 400bhp be possible without them?
I had understood that the exhaust was too loud when manufactured with the low back pressure to achieve 400bhp so double injectors were considered. How has this issue been solved?
