door refuses to close

On returning home today after a nice long drive in the Tamora, the missus got out of the car but when she went to close the passenger door, it wouldn't close but was just banging onto the metal lock without hooking on. After many attempts to rectify the problem, I called the AA. While waiting for them to turn up, went to get the car out of the garage and all of a sudden, the passenger door decided to close. Has anyone else experienced this problem of Jekyl and Hyde doors?

Yes...

Only a couple of weeks ago I had the same thing... It turned out that if you push the door vertically down whilst closing it shuts fine... As you say though, after 5 or so attempts it went back to normal all by itself and I never had the same problem since!??!?!?

That's TVR engineering for you I guess?

ad a similar problem witht the Tuscan. Seems fine now!

When it did happen with the Tuscan it can be solved by pressing the door release button again thus resetting the latch.

had this sorted out the other day at Racing Green, they put a washer behind the plate on the door and it now is sorted.

I wish I could get the passenger door to open properly, never mind close!!

I had the same problem, sorted the same as Dicky.
