m coupe v t350c any opinions??
Discussion
i have a bmw m coupe (not an m3, but the funny shaped bread van thing). yesterday, at mole valley tvr in chessington, i saw the first t350 (i.e. not on tv or in a magazine) and fell in love with it. i have never seen such a beautiful car, much improved from the tamora, which i thought was great.
i had a test drive today in the t350. fantastic car, but, it didn't quite have the acceleration i'd expected. my m coupe is 3.2 and 325bhp, so i'm not sure how much more power i thought the t350 would have. anyone else done similar?
having said that, i must have one, such a stunning car.

t350 has, wait for it, 350bhp, so i guess the extra 25bhp wouldn't be that much greater, but, the brutal power surge i find in the m coupe, just didn't seem to be as great in the t350. it had only done 1200 miles, so not fully run in. don't get me wrong, this is not a huge criticism, just an observation. thanks for the reply

Noodles - your 'M-pram,' as the Tuff of your namesake might call it, is one of the most vastly underrated looning devices known to man.
I recall EVO mag describing it's acceleration a while back and repeatedly checking their measuring device - they simply could not believe it's 4 second 0-60 blitz...
Whilst it lacks the T350C's incredible good looks, the fundamental essence of the M3 Coupe Roadster makes it, IMHO, something of a conceptual Bavarian sire to an unknown Lancastrian progeny.
Compact, lairy handling traits, great soundtrack and blisteringly quick...it shouldn't therefore be too surprising to experience performance similarities.
Then again, given the menu today, you really would be hard pressed to choose Munchenfodder uber Blackpool rock. I know I would.

I am also running a breadvan at the moment (black 2001 model) and talking to MoleValley about a T350...well a bit more than talking..they have a deposit off of me.
I am yet to drive the T350 as when I last called in at ML they had only just got it. I will have a go and report back my comparison.
Agreed with your sentiments about the aesthetics of the T350....esp as we both drive one of the oddest looking cars on the planet. You just cannot argue with that engine though, I still cannot believe BMW made such a hooligan of a car. I completely agree with Derestrictors comments that it is severely underrated and overlooked (nice 993TT BTW ). Passengers and other road users are often left in shock at the ferocity of what looks like a Z3 (well from the front at least!). I often receive the 'Please no G-Force I'm not feeling well' from my girlfriend.
On a serious note, I plan to drive to Tuscany for a wedding in June. T350 may have to wait until after that as I have to say that as a 'not put a foot wrong' GT I trust my 18month old breadvan more than what would be a brand new T350...

Heh maybe I'll see you in Italy in June Fish!!!!! Will almost certainly be in the breadvan. Did 2500 miles over the Alps in it last year...was a real joy. I will do it in the T350 but probably in 2004 when it is run in.
In response to Chrish, mine was registered in 09/2001 -fully loaded black/black. Don't know when I will sell, probably some time in the summer...send me a mail and I will keep you posted.

No Rich - but it does look like yours truly is talking like an omnimoron!
I do get terribly confused by these things; of course it's the Z3M coupe or roadster, n'est-ce pas?
I shall withdraw to the east tower and participate in a spot of self-flagellation till Lent.
