Hi Guys,

Hope you don’t mind if I ask a couple of dumb questions.

I have just got my Tax disc renewal through. My Tamora is classed as a “Private/Light Goods (PLG)” and they want £160 for 12m tax. Is this correct ?
My wife’s KA is classed as “Petrol Car” and hers is only £120. I presume it’s got something to do with the size of the engine in the Tamora and the Co2 levels. Can anyone confirm that their Tamora is also in the same class as mine ?

Secondly, I’ve noticed a lot of break disc rumble when breaking fairly hard from Motorway speeds. The breaks feel fine and there is no vibration under breaking. It has been like this from day one. Is this how it should be due to disc / pad compounds or have I got a problem ? Anyone else noticed break rumble ?

Cheers,
Nick

Yes, £160ish for 12 months is as good as it gets for this size of the engine, etc... Even a 1.8 engine would pay the same...

Brake rumble - yeah mine makes a muffled rumble like sound when braking from high speeds. As the car feels solid on the ground I never thought anything of it...

Yes, similar problem with my t350c, from day one. problem is more a vibration felt through the pedal though upon braking hard at 50mph+. Been suggested that i allow the brakes to bed in properly as car only has 300 miles on it.

Gentlemen, don't worry! It's just the fact that you now have cross-drilled discs. It is absolutely normal, especially before the pads have bedded in. Mine did it for the first 1500 miles or so, but it has now disappeared altogether - I think my track day at Donington cured it!!

The squealing that day definatly wasn't the brakes
