Chrome gater around handbrake
Discussion
My Tamora is an October 2002 model.. the handbrake hasn't got the chrome gater on it.. when confronting the dealer about it.. he said only the cars delivered after the motor show would have it..and said trying to put one on now would mean modifying the entire console in the middle.. i've seen older Tamora's than mine with this gater and i'm not convinced totally with the dealers theory.. can anyone relate to this please..
Yep, I can confirm that it would mean modifying the entire console in the middle, or fitting a new one. I had mine done at the factory whilst it was having the engine rebuilt. They did it for me as part of some "compensation" upgrades. So you could always blow your engine up..............
Andrew, they charged me £150 for the whole thing, including re-trimming the centre console "plinth". £50 for the chrome bit seems a bit mean!
They just use a new fibreglass piece with the chrome insert, and re-trim the lot. It's had the added bonus of getting rid of all the glue marks around the gear lever gaiter - they must be getting slicker with the glue guns!!
