Hi Guys,

When I start my car from stone cold I get an error come up on the dash and the dash alarm sounds.

The error says, "Oil temp 202 C"

Once the engine is warm the error and the alarm go away or I can clear it by pressing the two buttons behind the wheel at once.

Both the dealer and the factory have said this is quite common and an error in the software that they are trying to sort.

Has anyone else got / had this problem?

Cheers,
Nick

I often get the oil warning light come on when I start the car, but only for a couple of seconds.

Nick,

This one happened to me for the first time a few days ago. I cleared the warning about the oil temp and then it flashed up a warning that the water temp was at a similar level.

There were no further warnings or problems after that.

I have the same problem - glitch in the software for oil temps below 0deg C at startup. I have also noticed that at 0deg C oil temp when running, it wil sometimes flash between 100 and 0. My oil temp is also reading 7deg C low (when compared with ambient and water temp when engine cold)

Agree with the theory - it happened to me during the recent cold period and the oil temp at start up must have been below zero. What does concern me slightly is that when the car is cold I cannot read the LED display so am not always sure why the error buzzer has gone off.

I get all sorts of error codes popping up now and again. Think I'm on for the full-house - is there a prize ?

I just press the buttons and ignore them and will continue to do so unless one persists.

Dougie - I was having all kinds of issues with my LCD but since my car went back to the factory and they replaced it ( plus the control unit I think ), its been perfect under all conditions. I have always been running V6.0 software so it was definitely some kind of hardware issue. Maybe worth speaking to your dealer about getting yours changed.

My dash display takes ages to warm up and turn black, in cold weather. Adjusting brightness and contrast helps, but I would like a permanent solution....

mine also comes up with the oil pressure alarm on start up, but I did have an alarm for it going off reading 100 plus and going all over the place. It wasa cylinder gasket in the end. Just keep an eye on it I'd say.
