Hi Guys,
When I got my car back from the engine rebuilt at the factory I noticed a very small oil leak and also a slightly larger coolant leak. The coolant leak was very intermittent sometimes I’d find no coolant on the garage floor for a few days then the next day after a run there might be a puddle. This was checked at the 2nd, 1000 mile service and they found a problem with the oil cooler, it also cools the coolant apparently. Anyway this was replaced and the oil leak has gone but I’m still loosing coolant every now and again.
So the question, did / do any of you guy experience this. I’m wondering if it’s just the coolant over flowing when it cools down because it’s been over filled by the factory and then by the dealer. I’ve spoken to the dealer and they said that they did a coolant pressure test on the car up to 15psi and all was well. I guess I’ll just keep checking the coolant with the wooden spoon method and see how it goes.
PS: Anyone found a good way of checking the coolant level yet ?
Cheers,
Nick

Hi alt,
Were about's is does it leak out ?
Mine seems to be running down and dripping off the bottom of the front lip spolier.
Maybe it is washer fluid, it's a kind of a watery blue colour.
But I tasted a bit the other day and it defiantly trasted more acidy than washing up liquidy.........
Cheers,
Nick

On mine at the bottom of the screen wash bottle there's a 6 inch pipe with a connector on the end that connects to the longer pipe that goes along the o/s of the engine bay to the wipers.
The connector is just behind the oil cap and it seems to come apart there.
It's a bit fiddly to reconnect as you have to reach in with both hands!
Also, I had a incident with a kerb and ended up with a 2 foot crack along the front lip spoiler. Loads of water poured out and I was very worried until I realised that loads of rainwater was getting trapped inside the spoiler!

Um, I too split my front spoiler on a curb, Stupid design. They should have made it out of strong rubber or something. I'll have a look tonight to see of there are any holes in it following the repair that might allow rainwater to leak out. I drove home in a downpour on Saturday and found a huge puddle of what looked like coolant on the garage floor on Sunday morning.
I've only noticed it since the weather got wetter so maybe it is trapped rainwater.
But that would not explain the blueish colour and the acidic taste..........………
