Did anyone see the TV programme on car crime last night? It made me worry - are Tamoras (or TVRs in general for that matter) prone to car crime? Vandalism, theft, car jacking etc? Anyone had any experiences?

Generally speaking no, although there has been the odd incident.

The reason for this in the main is resale. They are such low volume cars that if all of a sudden one appeared with anything slightly dodgy about it someone somewhere would pick up on it.

Hope this puts your mind at rest a bit.

Matt.

After spending four years at a main dealer I never had a customers TVR properly stolen...a Cerbera owner who left his keys on his back wheel, does that count, the car ran out of petrol about five miles down the road!!

The only other incidents are kids nicking radio fronts when you have the roof off etc - most actually leave the stereo in!

Once a Chimaera that someone now owns on this website had it's wheels nicked on one side They were caught three days later after they tried to sell them to a main dealer! Nuff said really

Because they are all different and bespoke, not readily available abroad then they tend not to dissapear - this is why most insurance poilicies aren't too loeaded for a 150Mph plus car - 95% of the time it IS DRIVER ERROR!
