My new Tamora gets quite hot inside (and it is the middle of winter!). Does anyone know if it is possible to have air con fitted once the vehicle has been built, or is this something that had to have been fitted right at the start? If it is possible, any idea how much it costs/ how long it takes?

I'm sure it's possible to have air-con retro fitted but haven't really felt the need myself.
I agree it did get hot on the couple of hot days that we had this year but it wasn't too bad.
Surely your cold air vents are adequate in this weather?
Unless of course you're always in traffic so the 'cold' air is getting warm?
Cheers.... Andrew

Should be.

Luca with the posh Tuscan had it done not that long ago I seem to remember.

I'm with Andrew (alt) on this - I can't say I've felt the need for air-con. If I was off to France in summer, could be different though!!

As far as I'm aware it can be retro-fitted afterwards. I think your dealer may be able to do the work so essentially the cost should be parts + labour.

I have aircon on mine and its a "must have" IMHO. The Tamora system is very effective, much better than on my previous Cerbera.

IIRC the cost is around £2,000 fitted. No more than if you have it facory fitted from new.

My dealer said it would be cheaper to go to the factory to be fitted than do it themselves.

They were very helpful on this matter. Got it booked in with the factory through the dealer...they then let me know 2 days before they were getting a new delivery, and I took my car to them (Mole Valley) and it got a free ride back to factory on an empty transporter. Job was done when they said it would be.

Caught a train to Blackpool to collect, all washed, cleaned and warmed up. Same price as fitted from new ...£1,930 inc. vat

Also took the opportunity to have the factory tour, even though I got there late on a Friday afternoon, I'd kept them informed, and the lovely Lisa took me round. Fantastic! Really positive experience. Good PR.

Very pleased with the a/c, it makes a huge difference in my car, although the weather hasn't been hot enough to confirm that's its perfect. I expect it won't be perfect, but its a massive improvement, that makes the car more bearable than it was before.

Get in touch if you want any more details...

Cheapest air-con = put the hood down! Seriously though, others have answered the question.
