Whilst having my car serviced One of the items on my snag list was that the factory paint finish on the front wings wasn't up to scratch. (i.e. faint line can be seen) I have now been told that to fix this a complete front respray is being done. Has anyone experienced this and what was the finish like afterwards. Could you notice where the old and new started/stopped.
I have complete faith in my dealer (castle) but just wondered if anyone else had had similar work carried out.

Coops, I had the front end resprayed under warranty because the paint around the n/s lights went rough and dull. The paint's GTS Pearlescent Blue and I can't notice where the new/old paints meet.
Cheers.... Andrew

Don't worry, I had the same problem with my Tamora, you could see a what looked like a join line accross the wing above the front wheel. Mine was only on the nearsie. It seems to be a common problem, as I have seen a few tamora's with the same problem. I rekon it must be a problem with the mould.
Castle's done mine to, and I was also very concerned about it being re-painted. But, the quality of the job was superb. You really could not tell it had been done.
The people in their spray shop are excellent.

Many thanks,
just one other thing- anyone think it's a good idea to extend warranty from year one? Especially with all the speculation regarding the speed six engine. Castle quoted me approx £750.00 for year two.
I know the engine is covered for 2 years but not everything else.

I wouldn't bother - with the 2 year engine warranty you should be o.k. - the rest of the car is pretty good, with no major problems that I've heard about.

Nigel,

Have you still got the line above the wheel arch?
I've noticed mine has the same join line but I thought I might have done it somehow.

I've got a join line too.
It's only on the drivers side on top of the front wing in the middle of the wheel arch.
Is that the same as you lot ?

Cheers,
Nick

Nick
that is identical to mine, although I had it on both wings. This is fully covered under warranty.

I also needed the doors realigned and they are fixing the paint on that too.
Also slight scratches on laquer coat on boot so that is being sorted too.

just had 1000 mile service too and had to have front and rear arches resprayed due to defective paint work!paint finish on tamoras is not very good and your better off respraying the whole car again! What a shame to an otherwise drastic improvement to a TVR!
