T350 Windscreen
Discussion
Had the misfortune of picking up a massive stone chip on my windscreen the other day so I'm going to have to replace it. My T350 was registered on 7th Feb 2003 so I think it has the early type screen.
What's the difference between the later and early screens and are they interchangeable?
Thanks,
Alan

The patented resin system means nothing.
Much like your contribution to the thread.Autoglass a competitor I presume? I've used them several times, always been happy with their work, and was very happy that they were the only ones that were interested in repairing, not replacing. Makes a refreshing change.

I run a tiny little business compared to the global concern that is Autoglass (known by other names around the world) so no competition and no comparison in essence. But, every year I manage to save many windscreens that were condemned by them because the damage did not meet their repair criteria. In the best interests of the consumer, you know.
There is no call to take cheap shots because my opinion does not accord with yours.
Have a good day.

a heads up-
Dunno if the t350 is different to the Tamora*, when my screen was removed- there are a series of steel plates on the A pillar onto which the screen was bonded. On mine; these were found to be excessively corroded, so i had them replaced before the new screen was fitted
(*my issue may have been the fact that its a convertible)

AND, even that is not as simple as ordering TVR U2395 SS for the S/S replacements, because they are not all the same. It is at this point you need the likes of Glassman, simply because that is not something that many of the glass fitters get involved in. I have the screen from Motaclan and I can see that the screen has broken because of the expansion of the rust under the glass, I have the job to do before the glass can be fitted. (I have both sizes here ATM and some countersunk rivets to do the job). A@

Have you removed the broken windscreen? The A-pillar plates are under it, as you no doubt know. Glassman said:

Not as yet. I purchased the car with the screen broken, within the black edging on the passenger side, (I know it is broken), but then, unless you know it is broken it never gets mentioned! my mate had a Tamora and I visited the car to look at the metalwork (that is how I know there are two different sizes, as he bought the pair I now have and I measured his, his did not need replacing).
My 'job list' is the roof panel reshaping! (it was replaced after the original flew off the car), the dash top trim, which had been replaced with the screen still it, the screen trim up/over/down, which is trimmed in buffalo and the rubber surround, this will complete the full retrim. I think I can just see a raised head of a rivet where mine is broken, (they were raised on my mate car), hence I will countersink the S/S and use countersunk rivets. A@
