Went to the motorshow today, and the rep. from Hexham HC was non-plussed when I said my Tamora doesn't have the alloy gear lever surround. So, who has got this and who hasn't? I was told it was standard fitment from very early on in the production run, so I want one fitting to mine FOC. Also the new panels which hide and protect the seat belts are excellent. I want those too!!

But I don't want a T350C.

mine hasnt got it either, and when I requested it through my dealer a month ago they couldnt get any information from the factory. Want it because I'm hoping it's deeper so I can actually get my hand round the lever.....

It's the standard surrond as fitted to all Tuscans, and it does look very smart. C'mon, you lot, I need some ammunition to take back to my dealer. Who else has got one of these?

I think they only started doing this very recently ( post light changes ) as my dealer hadn't noticed when I pointed it out. The trouble is to do the work will require some of the fibreglass to be cut away I think, which means its not a an easy job. I doubt you will get this done FOC.

Agreed, it was one of the things I asked my dealer about. I was told that it wasn't as simple as just fitting it as the shape of the transmission tunnel had changed!

Hi Nubbin,

I got mine back from the factory with the new Alloy surround but I think they only did it as a favour seeing as my car was with them for two months!
It looks much better than the original "hole" but I can confirm they need to replace the entire centre console / transmission tunnel section to do it. So I can't see your dealer of the Factory doing it FOC. Not unless your engine blows up and the car goes for a two month holiday by the sea.......

Got the car back a couple of weeks ago and all seems fine. Just very frustrating having to run it back in again

Anyway it look like you guys are all moving on to 350's anyway so it will not bother you. Saw the car at the motor show and it looks great. Sticking with the Tamora untill I see a Taga. Must be able to get the roof off IMHO.

Cheers,
Nick

I'm not changing my car, Nick! I will wait for a couple of years to see if the lights and rear valance treatment get carried over to the Tamora. I want a soft top!! You and I appear to be in a minority, but I suspect some people are changing simply because it's a new TVR model....

I will also wait a year or so. The Coupe looks fab but I would still prefer a Targa/Cabrio. By the way silver (or Grigio alloy !!!!!!)with full black leather would be good colours IMO
The sequence of events for me is:
1. Let TVR get the inevitable teething problems, (despite Tamora underpinnings), of the T350C and T350 Targa sorted.
2. See if the front treatment/rear valence/lights etc are carried over to the cabrio
3. Hope there is an S model of Coupe/Targa/Cabrio introduced- i.e. 390-420bhp Speed Six, bigger brakes, gas discharge lights etc etc
4. Depending on how that all pans out change over to a `T400´ Cabrio or Targa or Coupe (unless I lose my job or the new Boxster in 2004 has more than 340bhp)

I asked the question about the Tamora getting the new front and back ends and was told categorically NO!

Though I do appreciate that this is TVR and all could change tommorow.

Gas discharge/Xenon lights are going to be an option on the T350C by all accounts, as soon as they have proved that they can dissapate the heat they generate.
