Has anyone ever fitted cruise control to their T350?
Going on a long European road trip next year and feel it would be most beneficial.
Cheers

Try this company.

They obviously don't list TVR, but they seem to be able to retrofit to most vehicles, and adapt and add the necessary parts, which their blog talks about, and are unlikely to be present in a TVR. They talk about accelerator travel which might be an issue. It will probably be expensive though.

They're an easy installation

You need a universal electro-mechanical kit

Unfortunately the majority of kits these days are produced for vehicles with a fly by wire throttle

Your vehicle needs an electro-mechanical actuator that hooks up to the throttle cable

Installation involves the fitting and wiring up of the following, wiring will come with the kit

ECU

Control switches/buttons as a unit

Clutch switch

Actuator

Possibly a second brake pedal switch

Wiring loom connects to the above components plus terminates to the following

Ignition positive

Battery negative/earth

Possibly battery positive

Brake switch

Speed signal

Hi Brian Leighton

We do not have standard kit for the TVR range. However, if it has an electronic throttle we usually can do them. If you can confirm if its electronic rather than mechanical throttle mechanism, we can advise on specific costs.

In general:
Kit costs for electronic throttle £360
installation                     £200 (at our Birmingham workshop)
All inc vat
However, if we have to do a lot of exploratory work which increases our labour time over our usual max of 3 hours, we would have to charge /hour extra at £70.

Best regards

No they are not, as the professional company that the OP has approached have confirmed. They do not have a standard kit. The TVR doesn't have an electronic throttle, and they clearly are going to have to do some exploratory work at £70 per hour to see what is required.

Oh dear me, Penny, what a motley collection of tat; scotchloks, meccano and an offcut of plug chain... looks like someone just emptied their desk-tidy after too many a moon.

Agreed, hence the above comment - Find a reputable auto electrician or automotive technician with good electrical skills to carry out the installation, a reputable auto electrician won't use the connectors included in the kit, proper connectors will be used by a pro

Anyway, am not suggesting the OP buys the one I posted, it does show what a kit contains thoughsmile
