Hi guys. I have setup my throttle bodies and need to reset the throttle pots. I have the software, a pc and the programming lead, but I can't find the programming socket to plug into. Any ideas please.

Thanks. Steering column cowel removed and all cabling exposed, but I cannot find any sockets. Is there any other possible hiding places for this socket?

So, if I can't get to the MBE programming port, is there another way of resetting the throttle pots?

Mine is not in the steering column cowl. It's to the right of the column more or less in front of the door with lots of other wires.
What vintage is your car? I think some late cars have got an OBD connection rather than the 3 pin serial link.

My T350C has the OBD port ECU diag plug. It's located on the RHS of the passenger footwell low down.

Wood that be 2 pin? Rather than 3. Do you know the cable colours? I have a two pin low down in the footwell. 2 black wires

This of any use?

Have just spent a couple of hours with my mechanic, looking for the damned diagnostics connector! I thought that I'd found it a couple of years ago – a 3-pin one, but MBETool couldn't find the ECU. I know PC s/w and h/w well enough to state with authority that the cables and ports are OK, so that's not an issue.

Talking to Jason at Str8six, he said that there 'may be' an additional, identical 3-pin plug under the steering column, for headlight levelling (!), which I can safely ignore. But I only have one plug there, and the wires are the wrong colour according to Jason – anyway, it's never worked. And Jason was adamant that there is no other connector for my 2003 Tuscan S!

However, my mechanic found an OBD, 16-lead female connector under the dashboard on the passenger side, with the wire colours on pins 2,3 and 5 corresponding to the colours that Jason indicated: black/white, white/red, white/green. But Jason insists that there's no diagnostics connector other than the 3-pin one in my car! Mind you, last time he saw the car was in 2011, getting it ready for my move to Malaysia...

Knowing enough, and occasionally more than I wish, about the TVR factory and its 'jolly' approach to car making – does it make sense? As my car was one of the last original Tuscans, is it possible that they'd wired the ECU to the OBD connector, and omitted the 3-pin one?

Anyway, I've decided to make a cable – OBD to serial – and try it out, but the Cannon/Farnell numbers in the Varley bible are out of date. Suggestions, please?

Any help very much appreciated!

Same is mine, a 2003 T350c.

And I can confirm that there is a (non usable) 3 pin cable in the drivers footweel which I tried first… smile

Mine is 2003 as well. The wire colours are White with green stripe, white with red stripe and black with a white stripe.
I recently repaired mine so I know these are the correct colours as confirmed in the diagram that was posted.

Sitting in the driver's seat I can reach the connector above and to the right of my right knee so I would not describe it as deep in the footwell.

2004 T350, it's on the drivers side. It's the connector next to the door release, not the one just behind the ribbon cable.

Wow. Thanks everyone. I will have another look this evening.
Seems I've been looking in the wrong place!

Just FYI, My Tamora is a 2006 mk2 (so very "late") and has the full sized OBDII plug in the passenger footwell (which doesn't really communicate with anything that I've found) and also has the 3-pin ECU comms plug near the steering column (which works with the TVR & Evoollie software fine).

The plug you want is probably amongst the spaghetti under the dash there somewhere!
