Hi guys,

Apologies for sad photo. Needing some help as I am currently taking out the loom to replace it but am having trouble remove the loom from the a pillars. Has anyone attempted this before. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

IF you are talking door pillars, then the door is removed, with an allan key to remove the half clasp on the lower hinge and the nut/washer on the top hinge, the door then drops away, rotates up and you need to turn the ring to remove the door loom, before taking the door away.

Edited once I had gone to the car and stood next to it.

Hi Adrian

Thanks so much for that. That is exactly what I needed to know. Does the door align straight away when you put it back on? Thanks again. Wish me luck.

Yes it does (or it did for me) the first was a two man job (actually, my 17 year old water polo playing son, so not a small lad) the second was me sat, legs under the door and the difficult bit is then to twist snap the latch on the plug. I was adding speakers to my door cards (which came back finished from the trimmer after all my work, an hour ago) and that the door loom is generic, but the body loom on a Tamora does not have the wiring (I took the doors off to then undo the nut on the shell socket to remove it and the seal etc. to add new properly crimped pins).

A bit off topic, but Adrian@ were trimmer able to just reuse the vinyl/leather when creating the speaker cut out or did he have to use new vinyl/leather for the doorcard?

All new trim was used, in Portland and slate grey. A pictorial of my work with written details on each picture is on my FB page. The door card is a such two pieces, so only the speaker part was worked on, then my trim had already been poorly re-trimmed in leather with an addition scrim foam to reclaim the surface 'neatness'.
But (having just spoken to my trimmer), he would not want to try it. The things you are not seeing here, is my work to make a moulding that was then countersunk riveted on, along with an upright disguiser IN the pocket/handle which is also riveted.
Oddly, these are not FG cards but of a non melt-able perhaps UV cure paste, that FG does not bond to. A@

Wow that's a sad photo OP.

I presume that your insurance company has lost interest after saying that it's a write off?

Care to let us have some more information?
